Thanks for the prayers 5CS. The dermatologist is gonna schedule up to 3 more light treatments for me. I was told that Tuesday and so far have heard nothing about the first appointment. Guess somebody dropped the ball....
Mom didn't get the first $600 stimulus payment...Got the second $1200 automatically so what gives?? 6 months back I dig into it and find that even though she got 1 payment and the previous payments she had to file income tax to get the $600. She is dang 90 years old. I dug into the records I keep and assembled everything needed to file. That's when I found out my tax lady had health issues and retired so I just gave up. Then about a month back I dug deep into the IRS website. I found a link to another page for a questionnaire that allowed me to apply with only a routing and account number from the credit union. I applied. They hit me back with a response and a questionnaire about my experience on the site. Said they're gonna let me know the progress. They went silent. I worried..Checked the monthly statement last night and the $600 was in there. My issue...She's 90 and has never used a computer. She got the other payments as she should have. This $600 for whatever reason didn't come. My bet is the government skipped the payment in hopes no one would jump through those hoops....
So the next dragon arrives... Mom had hearing aids through Avada to begin with. They were $6000 and pretty much worth nothing. I set her up with an audiologist in Chapel Hill hoping for better results. They were much better but the second pair of $6000 hearing aides has gone bad. The next pair they're pushing is $6500 and she has a loaner pair for the time being. They're small and rechargeable but must go to Chapel Hill for any adjustments and trust me there will be adjustments aplenty. So that'll put Mom at $18500 for hearing aides so far and hearing is marginal at best. She's also about 80% blind so she has problems seeing how to get them in the charger.. This Build back Better bill has limited hearing aide coverage added to Medicare but if passed by the Senate won't take effect until 1/1/24. I need them now. I just came across a set from Bose. My experience from Bose has always been great. They have the piece behind the ear but I've found the $6000 invisible ones to be very problematic. The Bose aids are fully adjustable from your phone as well and come with a full money back guarentee should you not like them. You gotta change out batteries but at $849 that can be dealt with. Next week there will be another hurdle.
