Somewhere out there
I'll be sure to post up a good amount of pictures to show our packing process either tomorrow or Monday :)

-Each bottle of nicotine now uses a LDPE-sealed Polycone cap to seal the PET amber bottles

-Each bottle is individually wrapped and heat-sealed in polyethylene bags

-First-class shipping has been removed for all concentrated nicotine products. We were unaware of how poorly they treated these packages in the shipping process.

-Robust cardboard packaging materials replace bubble mailers

In the past, we hadn't had a single issue, until a report of a single broken package from one of my customers. As a result, we have begun to implement these packing methods and have been in touch with customers to ensure a safe, robust, and compliant packing solution :) The last thing we want is a broken seal of a package in the mail. Both for the safety of the postal service and for our customers.

Will you also switch from paper envelopes to bubble mailers for non-nicotine first-class orders?

I do most of my shopping online and from the receiving end, I can tell you that paper envelopes just don't hold up if they contain any irregular shaped items. Bubble mailers, especially the poly- type do surprisingly well considering the rough treatment they must get in sorting, loading and unloading.

I should hope so. This sort of incident is just the thing the FDA is looking for to just down the vaping industry for everyone except BT and BP.

Agree----but I'd like to add, for me, it goes beyond self-interest.

I am sure I am not alone in saying that I do not place my enjoyment of vaping before or above the safety of other people, i.e. members of my community, like my mail carrier.

In my neighborhood people send their children out to get the mail. I shudder to think of a child carrying a dripping, nicotine-sodden package in their bare hands.

I like to think that the entire vaping community is comprised of mature people who think similarly. We want to be seen as responsible, capable, and professional people---- not a bunch of careless rookies.

While I fully understand that some are fearful that writing about such incidents may give ammunition to their opponents, let me say that fearfulness should never override doing the right thing.

And the right thing is to address poor and unprofessional practices in this industry, where and when we see it.

To behave in a courageous manner is to *own up* to stuff. Even if there are repercussons. Even if it is uncomfortable. Even if it is embarassing.

Otherwise, we are cowards, huddling and shaking in a corner, who stand for nothing.

The customer's replacement is to be sent Monday morning when USPS opens with our new packaging :)

That's not what the OP (BigCypress) of the thread indicated. He said the replacement was shipped in the same manner, even after he explained to you what had happened. I wish he'd get to this thread to tell his side of the story.

Absolutely :) We've entirely eliminated the paper envelopes and first-class shipping has been removed from our site as a shipping option for the moment. I'm working with our web developers to engineer the First-Class shipping option to be available for non-nicotine products ONLY. It's seemingly a bit difficult the way we've coded the site, but it's in the top priorities list for early this week.

100% agreed though - paper envelopes don't stand up to the beatings.

I agree with you 100% on this subject. It is a shame that this was a result of one of our shipments, and I'd like to issue an apology again to the ENITRE ECF community to whom this incident has affected. While it may only be a single package, the confidence of our brand is something I cherish deeply. Especially as our standpoint is of chemical validity and safe usage of nicotine products. I want to ensure this remains a core of our business and if there is a subject matter you feel we should further address, please let us know :)

Our actions have been to nip this issue right in the bud - change our packaging solution immediately and ensure this issue NEVER ARISES again.

I've uploaded a video to youtube demonstrating the true rigidity and impact resistance of our new packaging solutions. Have a look:

Nude Nicotine Package Drop - YouTube

I, along with each and every member of my Nude Nicotine staff, will do everything in our power and beyond to ensure all feel SAFE AND CONFIDENT about the products they receive from Nude Nicotine. And to continually ensure our validated nicotine base maintains a rigorous quality standard as it always has.

Best,
Jake

Sorry I've been away for a few days.

I placed an order a couple weeks ago @ nude nicotine.

Shipped right away, but it took a little longer than usual.

Turns out the package/bottle had a failure and leaked.
The post office wrapped it in plastic wrap and put it in a bag.

here is an excerpt of the email I sent admin@nudenicotine.com

"I got it inside not realizing the bottle failure, only thinking it was just the paper damaged,
and me and my wife both started feeling a bit funny as i was dissecting and she was taking pictures.
I had to get it outside immediately. It smelled horrible, toxic, dangerous.

I will attach some pictures up to the point that I had to take safety
measures and seal it in a bag and get it outside."

Admin@nudenic / thejaker responded:

"Just attempted to give you a ring on your cell. Contact me when
you have a chance. It would have been racking my
conscience all Sunday if I didn't call you :)"

"This is the first time a package rupture has occurred for Nude Nicotine!
Let's talk when you have a second on how we can improve for the future,
and of course to send you a new aliquot (sp?) right away."

I told Him I'd call him back, but didn't have the time, so busy!

(I'm a stay at home dad, 5 month old son 1st kid. I got into an auto accident (head on, my lane)
Dec 30, 2012.)...

More to come.

Of course this isolated issue in our past is never a problem with the elimination of First-Class shipping, and the new anatomy of a Nude Nicotine Package:

Our packages containing concentrated nicotine base, and our other nicotine products shipped through USPS ‘Priority Mail’ have a unique packing method that ensures a leak-free, robust, and safe packing solution for all of your Nude Nicotine products. The following pictures demonstrate the packaging of a 250mL bottle of concentrated nicotine base:

Layer 1: LDPE Polycone Caps provide a tight seal against our PET amber plastic and glass bottles:

Polycone-LDPE-Cap1-300x300.jpg

Layer 2: LDPE heat-sealed bags ensure if a leak is to occur, the solution will stay contained within the LDPE bag:

IMG_1263-300x199.jpg

Step 3: Preparations of the rigid cardboard container in which the sealed bag will rest:

IMG_1264-300x199.jpg

Steps 4 and 5: Additional sealing of the bottle in a second protective layer – bubble wrap followed by a third layer – bubble mailer:

IMG_1265-300x199.jpg

IMG_1266-300x199.jpg

Step 6: Top layer of protection the thrice-sealed bags:

IMG_1267-300x199.jpg

Step 7: Appropriate ‘fragile’ and ‘glass’ labels placed visibly on packaging:

IMG_1268-300x199.jpg

And there you have it! A properly packaged Nude Nicotine order on its way safe-and-sound to its destination anywhere across the US :)

But does it stand up to the test?

Let’s have a look: The Nude Nicotine Package Drop:

just to clarify, that last post happened saturday/sunday.

Jake has been super through this whole situation.
I've never waited more than 2 hours for a reply.

Monday: received shipment from wiz and snapped pix for Jake, sent him this

http://s1284.photobucket.com/user/jetimindtrick/library/wiz packing?sort=2&page=1

Just to show him how I like nic to be packed and shipped.

Remember wiz didn't start packing like that either.

so Tuesday rolls around and I open the mail
and I see my replacement already.

Fantastic! new bottle!

I open the "slightly larger brown envelope" .

This bottle has made it. But I notice it was shipped in the same way.
No seal, no bag. Just 1.5 wraps of bubble wrap around the unsealed 120 ml bottle.?!

This is where I become concerned.

So after a few days i turned to the ecf to make sure I got my point across.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about!

I got my 500ml bottle last week, bubblewrapped inside a USPS mailer. The bottle survived well enough, but the mailer looked like it had been through the wars. Quite literally it had taken the shape of the bottle.

The thin card of a mailer just doesn't have the strength to withstand the hostile activity of transportation logistics. In this method, the bottle itself provides the strength to support the weight of other packages and resist impacts.

This new and improved method looks like it'll do the trick! Can't wait to put in my next order and see that gorgeous new packaging arrive! With the quality of the product (crystal clear, great viscosity, and tested perfectly at 100 mg/ml), and the astonishing speed of shipping (36 hours?), it'll be the highlight of my vapemail without a doubt!

In the time between him sending the package and me receiving the package
He had told me about the new shipping methods he was implementing.

I also want to say that the nic is good, on par with WL and RTS,
they are all a little bit different.

Post some pics when it arrives!

So glad you are enjoying the base! Did you test it via the sulfuric acid titration?

Be sure to take advantage of the free-shipping coupon before the end of the month on concentrated nicotine base, and the fancy packaging is on us :)

Yeah, just a basic sulfuric acid test. The test isn't super-accurate, but it's really just to ensure that I don't wind up with something outrageous like 272 mg/ml on 100 mg/ml labelled nic. Not like anything like that could ever happen. (cough Box Elder cough)

Nothing personal, just being thorough. I never fully trust the activities of strangers, nor trust that they'll be thorough. Not with something that can injure or kill at high concentrations.

But it turned out great. I've seen tap water that wasn't as clear as y'all's nic. I think if it'd been any clearer it would've been invisible! If not for the test I would've wondered if it had any nic at all! The consistency was good, nice and thick. Everything with the nic was better than expected.

The only alarm was in the packaging, and you're getting that under wraps. Nicotine at 100 mg/ml has the potential to injure/kill. Every pair of ungloved hands on a package between origin and destination is at extreme risk if it ruptures or leaks. The bad press from one single preventable incident would not go well for us. The thin-walled PET bottles usually used for reagents aren't meant to keep material contained in any other conditions than upright and undisturbed, any other conditions need to be compensated for by appropriate packaging.

Unlike Box Elder, you identified a problem and took steps to correct it. You didn't attempt to pretend that no problem existed or brush it off. As a community whose primary focus is on consumer safety in a largely unregulated industry that we'd like to see stay that way, we give props to those who work to make it safer and better.

I don't see any need to look elsewhere for my nic needs, I believe I could only do worse by doing so. Keep being awesome!

Free shipping you say?...... :2cool:

A friend turned me to the old BE issue this week. Weird that I had never heard of the company considering that massive issue! Don't worry, that could never happen at Nude Nicotine :) Each lot produced is titrated to ensure proper concentrations

Glad we have the packaging issue under control. Agreed, safety is our top priority, above all else, and let us know if there is anything you see we can improve upon to uphold that standard.

Free shipping I say! Coupon code nn100mgfreeship is all you need :)

Got the new packaging in yesterday.

There was no way that bottle was gonna rupture/fail.
Or if it did, it would've been contained.

Thanks Jake & Nude Nicotine for listening and acting so quickly.

Reading all of ECF's comments in our 25-day flavor-a-day-giveaway contest, it is obvious that it might be time for Nude Nicotine to release a few more flavors :) Over the course of this contest, we have been building 5 new flavor chemistries. All five encompass the flavors we have received positive feedback from here at Nude Nicotine, and we were as anxious to blend and test them as you (hopefully) are to try them! Look for the following 5 flavors to be uploaded to the 'Sweet' and 'savory' sections of the Nude Nicotine website over the course of the day tomorrow:

Cake Batter
Boysenberry Jam
Pancakes!
Citrus Slap
Menthol Tobacco

And of course all five will be available in flavor concentrates as well.

SPEAKING OF WHICH, I promised everyone a big release tonight as well. The web development team as just uploaded the ENTIRE LOT OF CONCENTRATED FLAVORS TO THE WEBSITE! Each and every Nude Nicotine eliquid we offer is now available in its raw flavor concentrate. All are extracted in VG and ethyl alcohol, for those seeking to formulate a true 100% VG liquid. They are very concentrated, for use between 2.5% to 7.5%. Very excited to get these into the ECF DIY community!

As a promotion for them, I want to open up our next coupon code! Use the code 'diypride15' for 15%-off of all of our concentrated flavorings. DIY PRIDE!

And lets not forget the DIY labware items! Also released under our products is a section for DIY labware and supplies, including PG/VG, needles/syringes, conicals/racks, goggles/gloves, and more! We are adding additional products each day as our inventory grows, so keep checking back! And as always if there is a product that you would like us to begin to stock, please don't hesitate to shoot us a PM or an email.

I'll be sure to link everyone when the new flavors have been uploaded! And next contest in a few days! Be on the lookout, because we'll never stop giving away free Nude Nicotine swag!
A friend told me about you folks and since I'm a DIY nut case I have a question because I'm still confused so please humor me :)

This page » [Concentrated Flavorings] lists all your "Concentrated Flavors" Are these TRUE "extract's" from the real deal fruit. For example, your yummy sounding Boysenberry Jam is created by obtaining Boysenberry's (the fruit and not a chemical) and then with magic extracting the flavor from this fruit in a suitable form for a vaping ejuice?

Thanks in advance for your help and humoring me :)

What strawberry flavoring are you using?

These concentrates are extracted using a distillation of their RAW COMPONENTS :) AKA raw fruit, honey, vanilla, etc... Of course these extracts are further purified through chromatography or a similar process, but their origins are of natural sources. Some flavoring molecules are added in addition to natural sources, in places such as butters and creams, where molecules such as acetyl propionyls and aceitone are substituted. These are 100% vape-safe, as opposed to diacetyl alternatives. We've put ample time into making sure EACH AND EVERY INGREDIENT IS VAPE-SAFE for everyone. That's a necessity at Nude Nicotine!

It's not magic, its chemistry!
