Are the white chunky bits that settled to the bottom of the bottle of flavor most likely the DAA stuff? (of course it is, duh, what else would it be?)

um, no, cause the white bits that have separated out were part of the original flavor profile, and thus, once the bits of flavor are not in the rest of the liquid, well, I'm thinking the "remainder" off the top is not the original flavor, if you get what I'm thinking? yes?
Jake told me by phone yesterday that it might then just be a little less sweet.
I was just kind of kidding about the diacetyl acetyl and acetoin being the white solids that are falling out. I wish they were cause then I'd just take off the top, avoiding all the lung killing ingredients.
On a more serious note - yeah I agree, it is probably tasty sugars that have fallen out. I know I've noticed a very large difference between the flavor profiles of my new bottle of patchouli vanilla VS my original crusty crystal bottle. I'd recommend a hot water bath and scraping all that crystalized goodness back into the liquid before using.

Ok. I'll go mix up a batch and see if it's still as tasty or not as the first ones I made the day I received my Pancakes, before the "sweet" fell out lol.
For the patchouli vanilla, the little white flakes on the threads are natural vanilla components present when alcohol has evaporated. Likely you just had a bit of liquid on the threads of the vial in which the ethyl alcohol has evaporated 
Nothing to worry about! Simply wipe away or if you are so inclined, fresh ethyl alcohol will resolublize it right back into solution
In the pancakes, the particulates are sweetener compounds, mostly ethyl maltol, NEVER diacetyl, etc... funny, DAA is a new acronym to me, thanks for educating me! Just haven't heard it put that way!
Just FYI - DAAs exist as a colorless liquid at RT.

Do you have access to testing that goes below the stated .4 threshold? Can you clarify your previous statements about using acetyl or acetoin? I know flavors have to be sold but if I don't have clarification on ANY of them then I can't use ANY of them and (IMO) neither should anyone else. (I know... a little harsh... but only a little.) We could all be inhaling molecules all day every day well above exposure limits that could be detrimental. Dare I say, have a heart man! Drop some real knowledge on us, take us to school, tell us future plans, anything definitive and truly helpful. You're a seemingly polite and knowledgable fella.
Unfortunately all my Nude flavorings now sit at the back of my cupboard - to spend their useless lives in the abysmal shadow of the people deadness accelerators called custards and creams... wait... what?
We all dig the flavors very much but if our trip involves vaping as "safe" as theoretically possible - they're of seemingly no use.

I have the same formations on the top of the patchouli vanilla bottle. Looks just like my bottle of EM. However, it is not in the liquid itself. I really doubt it's much of a problem. Jake, sending a PM about the flavor separation. Also, I did mix up some Passion Fruit Coconut Cream and it really tastes off compared to the premixed sample I received with an order. I had mixed that one up 60/40ish, so I'll try doing it with 95%VG/5%Saline and see if that improves. Thank you again Jake, your presence here is invaluable...

Ok, so last week I mixed up some more Pancakes using the liquid on top and not the white bits that had settled to the bottom. It tastes like unsweetened pancakes. So, yep, the "sweet" fell out, or settled down to the bottom to be precise.

Having a little trouble with OMFG It's Chocolate though, as in, no matter what % I used, I'm not getting any chocolate. It's probably just me. I'm giving up on chocolate vapes lol.
However, all the batches I made a few weeks ago are great where I used Minty Menthol, Apple Pie, Boysenberry Jam, Pancakes. And now this week I'm digging Honey Tobacco! good stuff all of these! Oh and Lemon Mint is yummy too.

Hi everyone, I tried unflavored nic 12mg at 50/50 ratio and liked it. So I decided to 70vg/30pg to see if there is a difference. I noticed it had a different smell, can't really explain it and it tasted a little different.
Has anyone tried both ratios and noticed the difference in taste and smell? Is the higher VG contributing the different taste?

VG tastes and smells different than PG, generally a little sweeter. You should expect some change when the ratios change.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure I taste it sweeter, just different. I think I like the 50/50 ratio better. But it was well worth trying both. I was just curious if someone here vaped both ratios and what they thought.

Diacetyl causes popcorn lung. It is the reason why you don't inhale freshly popped microwave popcorn. It is what makes it taste like butter.
