Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone!
Figured it was about time Nude Nicotine held its first ECF contest. We wanted it to differ from the norm, and specifically wanted to use this opportunity to promote proper safety and chemistry within our eliquid formulations. I was speaking with my colleagues last evening and we were all VERY interested in seeing what our fellow ECF'ers' 'eliquid laboratories' looked like - what laboratory equipment the average DIY user was using to formulate his or her eliquids, and what safety equipment they have/wear.
We at Nude Nicotine are proponents of personal protective equipment (PPE) as it is used in any standard laboratory for use in eliquid formulations. We are dealing with the nicotine alkaloid, which can be an irritant for some at lower concentrations, but toxic at higher concentrations as well. It is a necessary precaution to, at the minimum, protect yourself with long sleeves, safety gloves, long pants, and protective eyewear.
We've assembled this Nude Nicotine-approved chemistry kit for our lucky winner of this Labor Day contest, which will run until the end of Tuesday (9/3) at 11:59PM (We wanted to give you an extra day since we are releasing this on Saturday morning). At which time we choose a winner at random based on post number.
Take this opportunity to post a picture of youw own 'eLiquid laboratory' and show us what equipment you are using to make your formulations! Show us any PPE you're using as well!
Please one 'entry' per person, and only posts with images included will be included in our drawing. The winner will receive the following items, we believe to be all-inclusive of a basic chemistry kit for use in eliquid formulations. Only things missing are PG, VG, concentrated nicotine base, and flavorings!:
-10 sterile diaper pads
-3 disposable lab coats
-Nitrile gloves
-Glasses
-x10 10mL syringes
-x5 50mL conicals
-10mL, 25mL, 50mL, and 100mL robust Kimble glass graduated cylinders
(sorry we couldn't include any pants here
)
We look forward to seeing what you all are using! We are here to promote safety in all forms when handling concentrated nicotine, but more importantly, are here to help each and every one of you in your own individual eliquid formulations. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly with any questions you may have. Transparency is our middle name
Best regards from sunny San Diego,
