Here is the reaction from our friends at the American Council on Science and Health (ACSH)

Rare sanity in the world of tobacco harm reduction Publication Date: November 8, 2011 ACSH applauds John Tierney's column in today's Science section of The New York Times, in which he argues for the promotion of electronic cigarettes as a harm reduction method to reduce the tremendous toll of smoking in the U.S.

Rare sanity in the world of tobacco harm reduction > Facts & Fears > ACSH

And here is the latest update from Professor Polosa: "Our BMC paper on e-cigs has been downloaded more than 4500 times since its publication. We expect this figure to rise even further because of its exposure in the NY Times column...."

I love reading articles like this -- true honest journalism. No, the e-cig isn't a miracle cure. Yes, it is ridiculously less harmful than analogs. So are snus and dissolvables.

It is awesome to finally see some blunt, factual journalism for us, rather than the regurgitated party line FDA bullshiz that many other media outlets seem to want to puke out.
