This NY Times article from yesterday is mostly sensible. I doubt the FDA can be as sensible as the NY Times is calling for, given their agenda, but one can hope.
If for once they think long term instead of now we might be much better off. Health care costs are going parabolic, yet these idiots don't think of costs that are going to kill whatever is left that they have not spent. Going forward smart choices have to be made, the current situation the way it stands is not going to last much longer. Sensible policy has to take hold sometime, but I'm not holding my breath.
This is not exactly true. People who die due to health complications from smoking cost less than old people who live a ridiculously long time and require ever increasing amounts of medical care. I myself plan on soaking it to the b*ds for as long as possible.
Hmm you have a point my friend, I guess a ban is now in order. In order to save capitalism we must die, except not too soon. We must first stay in good shape and pay as much tax as possible and then die. Now why did I not think of that?
I just love modern man, with all the technology we really make the primitive people of the past look saintly, and moral.![]()
... and the government are the ones who plop us down on the ice floe...
... and charge fer da 'ride' with 'disposal' and environmental fees, although da ice and current are free!
More likely to chuck you to the polar bears and charge you an exorbitant dump fee.
A report last year in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine showed that while nearly 85 percent of smokers believed that e-cigarettes were safer than cigarettes in 2010, that number had dropped to 65 percent in 2013.
Not to mention the fine for poisoning an endangered species.
Nicely, well thought out article. A nice change of pace! Woofer, I don't think it's BS when you take in context with the next few sentences.
Of course the confidence has dropped with amount of negative untrue press that's been spread.
I have no idea who the American Journal of Preventive Medicine is nor do I know anything about ``the report``. What I see is more peeps in the B&Ms and on the streets vaping. According to this site Electronic Cigarette Statistics | Statistic Brain in;
2008 - $20,000,000
2013 - $1,000,000,000
2014 - $1,700,000,000 (Projected)
That confidence has dropped 20% in three years is staggering.
Now you got it! In Eskimo culture, when you get too old to be useful to the tribe, you just plop yourself down on an ice floe and let nature take it's course. This is just like that, except it's with cigarettes, and the government are the ones who plop us down on the ice floe.
