Since some folks seem to think this tank doesnt produce enough flavor... Can this tank produce flavor like a plain jane basic Smok beast tank. I have some flavors that are to strong so seems good to have different flavor strength type tanks. One tank for strong flavored juice, a tank for weaker flavored juice and so on. At least that's the route I'm gonna go.
I'd say the wide open air is a tad more than a TFV8 BBB and better flavor. Though the flavor is muted vs the best. It's got a great, easy, every day design for carry.

There are just over a bazilion theories but I've found using TC with a good bit of preheat punch helps more than positioning. I keep the legs short, coil raised slightly, snack middle otherwise. Getting the coil and chamber up to temp quick in TC gets it tasty. Think there's just a lot of air volume in the chamber and air chutes to overcome.

Get it to work? This isn't rocket science here it either does or it doesnt. 90% of this thread is about finagling to try to get more flavor out of the thing. btw didn't you say that this is your first rta, not a lot of basis for comparison.

In my case I think I'm doing something wrong with wicking because I was getting very good flavor before.

Awesome, that's what I wanted to hear. I'm trying to find one (Engine Nano) locally but been busy with work the last 3 days. So I haven't looked. I've been going to different shops locally to find a decent tester setup. All these shops here have horrible tasting setups.

Time for a comparison! I recently purchased an Ijoy Exo. I'm running it in single coil setup. So naturally I feel the need to compare it to my Nano. Both tanks are single coil, my first ever self made fused clapton coils. 3mm id, 26ga fused cores, 36ga clapton wrap, SS316L for both, and both around .2 ohms. Both firing at 50w on my Smok Alien, both tanks filled with a peach yogurt juice I mixed up. Let me start by saying the juice is delicious out of both tanks. I don't want to admit it, because I love the Nano, but I'm getting better flavor out of the Exo. Here's where things get confusing and you make your own judgments and decisions if you are torn between the two RTAs. The flavor difference is noticeable, and in the Exo's favor. However, it's not leaps and bounds ahead of the Nano, just slightly better IMO. The Nano is a bit taller, but not bigger around. The Nano does hold over twice the juice of the Exo, in shorty configuration, but just .8ml more than the Nano in taller configuration. (I told you it was confusing) [emoji23] The Exo in taller/6ml configuration is taller than the Nano by maybe 2mm. The juice flow control on the Exo is a bit loose spinning, and it's a new thing to me, I'm not sure I'm a fan of it. Ease of building between the two RTAs is close, but the Nano wins on ease of building and ease of use. Less stuff to get wrong and possibly ruin your vape experience and need to rebuild. That being said, I had no issues building either one, both are wicking well, and working well. The Exo just has more moving parts, and a bit more of a learning curve to it. The Exo hasn't leaked as of yet, but it is a bottom airflow, and I feel a bit more likely to than the Nano. I believe that the Exo just took the place of my Baby Beast as my secondary tank. Only time will tell if it passes my Nano as my primary tank. I hope this comparison was helpful, informative, and not too long. If anyone has any questions about the two or wants anything else compared between these two just ask.

Drewbacca your primary tank is the Nano despite a better vape from the EXO? Thanks for the review. We need more reviews like this. When people review tanks without comparisons it's meh because all reviews make everything sound good, especially YouTube. Right now the baby beast is my primary and wanting a RTA as a primary so I'm similar to you just not as advanced in the vape world yet. I haven't pulled the trigger because my first 2 vape purchases were mistakes. Than I was displeased with myself for buying the baby instead of the big baby because I work 12 hr shifts. I need capacity. I'm probably just gonna order the Nano and Vandy Kylin and the big baby

Since you are an Ijoy fan have you looked at their newest pre order mod. The mod is what I've been waiting for. Good, normal size for a man but a big fire button that isn't a grip fire button. Ijoy Captain PD270

I know it seems odd, but the capacity, ease of use and build, and super low maintenance of the Nano has the Exo beat at the moment. It's easier for me to build and maintain the Nano, so I'm more willing to rebuild it more often. The Exo does stand a chance of taking it's place, if I get more used to it. Also I haven't compared flavor between the two with the 6ml extension on the Exo. I think that could be a deciding factor between first and second. I'll let you guys know if the Exo does indeed take first. I do like Ijoy a lot, I also have the Combo RDTA, and it's awesome, but the dual coils run through juice faster than I like, and the single coil plug it comes with kinda seems like a waste to me. I feel like if a RTA/RDA/RDTA is going to be dual and single coil it needs separate decks for each like the Exo or others. Not a fan of the plugs. I am really interested in the Ijoy Captain, but I'm not in the market for a new mod at the moment. I'm still loving my Alien, and I have a second set of 18650s for it that gives me around 3 days of battery life in the 40-60 watt range. If the Captain had come out like 2 months sooner I would have gotten it to replace my faulty G320 instead of the Alien. The reasons I went with the G320 instead of the Alien originally was extra battery for more life, and firing button instead of firing bar. Wasn't a fan of the firing bar, but now I've grown used to it, and kind of enjoy the "pick it up and squeeze" firing. I'm glad you enjoyed my comparison, and I hope you aren't alone in that!

I have both the Nano & Exo too, got them both at the same time. I personally don't notice the flavor difference between the too. I use the Nano more for out & about because I don't have to worry about it leaking. Love the capacity too.

Enjoyed your write-up!

My first RTA was the Merlin Mini(might have ordered the Nano 1st, not sure), but thats neither here nor there. I went hog wild the first month and ordered everything under the sun. My favorite is still the Serpent Mini for flavor, but the Nano is right behind it.

Dont get .... hurt, youre not the only one who I am laughing at. Youre right, it either works or it doesnt, and the Nano does. "Its not MTL"...it can be, very versatile. "You cant wick it to the floor"...you can. "I wick it like an RDA"....cool, whatever floats your boat, again one of the most versatile tanks there is.

Every tank is different, this one is no different. But in no way does one need to alter the design to get good flavor, far from it. Happy hacking!

I get great flavor from both, but the EXO edges out the nano by a tiny margin
the EXO 2ml config gives the best flavor hands down
between the EXO 6ml config and the Nano

the OBS engine orignal has the best flavor but it uses 2 coils
thus a lot more juice
here are my current configurations of my nano, engines, EXO

Black Nano

coil - 1 7 wraps 3.0 ID
material - 26/32 AWG A1 Kanthal Clapton
Ohms - 1.0

juice Naked 100 All Melon 70/30 VG/PG
---------------------------

Stainless Engine

juice Slim's Peach Melon Cream 50/50
-----------------------------

Black Ijoy

juice Charlie Chalk Dust Lemon Meringue 70/30
------------------------------
mods used are the Smok Alien 220 (black Ijoy, SS OBS Engine)
and the Aspire Pegasus 75 (OBS Nano, Black OBS Engine [will not work on the Alien])
still haven't figured out why these (OBS Nano, Black OBS Engine)
will not work on the Alien Thus the reason for 2 mods

.... I can't even. lolz

Getting all uppity whenever someone posts something that you disagree with regarding this atty is not helping anyone... Just look at all the people that have come here again and again, looked at all the glowing opinions and ordered one, thinking they could properly mtl with it, that it wicks really well, that it's impossible for it to leak or that it had amazing flavor (all things that have been stated repeatedly in here) and were dissatisfied.

All I said is that you will get better flavor if you plug that back hole, if that is upsetting to you for some reason then that is something for a psychologist to sort out... just open it up and look at it, then compare that to the distance to the coil and space between the posts. it's very simple physics there's no emotion involved. If you don't believe me, try it, after that whether or not you want to admit it is your problem.

About the EXO, I piffed mine due to the press fit peice in the base causing bad readings for TC, but it did have good flavor, the best way to coil it in single coil is to use the reducer and press it right up against the side airflow so that the air out of the reducer is hitting the back of the coil (it will have long legs) while the rest is hitting the front. Make sure that the coil is spaced & longer than the side airflow ports. Due to the spacing involved, it only works with a large diameter clapton or you'll get wasted air from one or more of the ports, but when it's done right you'll know.

How do you have two engines with the same build, and different ohms? Also I use my Nano on my Alien, weird that your Alien won't take it.

they both have the same wire, same wraps, same id yet one is 0.24 ohm and one is 0.54 ohm? or that was a typo?

Anyone ever have their tank hopelessly flood, left it alone for a few hours, then the flooding goes away?
I have only had mine flood because I tried filling them too much. I just vaped it at higher wattage to clear it out. I never tried just letting it sit tho.
