Right... It makes total sense... I can see that these are being held and moving around but even with my Gennies, I always had the wick all the way to the bottom. I just don't see why they say to keep it off the bottom in some videos...

There are space aliens, moon dogs, lake monsters and videos saying to fold the end over the juice holes on the Internet.
The only 'reason' I can come up with is if (big if) you got the ends flush against the bottom, high wattage vapers may find it wouldn't wick well.
Out side of that, I haven't a clue, and that's pulling one from the nether regions...

What is the advantage of rayon? Is it higher temp resistant?

From what I've gathered from the main thread, rayon is supposed to taste better and last longer than cotton. There are other advantages that I cannot remember. I'm primarily interested in the longevity of rayon wicks. The less I have to wick, the better.

I wick my coils no longer than 3 days anyway. Not because the cotton is bad but more because the coils are gunked up. It wouldn't matter what wicking material I use. I don't have any problems with cotton personally.

If you don't try it you'll never know. Lasts long, doesn't SWELL. Never thought I'd bother to try it, glad I did. And since it's so CHEAP, not many excuses not to give it a go, besides, if one is ever bored, it's a new vape thing to learn, though it's not difficult, just involves some trimming. Oh, I think I forgot to mention, it DOES wick BETTER.

Higher temperature resistivity, more resistant to gunking/clogging, wicks faster than any cotton and better flavor than most

Paired with ss 430 it has saved me a bunch of time, maybe a little money too.

If it's not broke don't fix it.

This.

I've seen video with people wicking to the bottom and swearing it's great, and I've seen people just laying on the holes and saying it's great. Me, I fluff and place the ends into the holes but not through them, an it works great. Bottom line, this tank is really flexible for wicking preference and you can do it however you want that gives you good performance to satisfy your taste.

While a tank wicked to your preference for flavor is the aim, the great thing is you can't screw up the wicking and have to worry about it leaking all over. And I think it's pretty hard to get dry hits with it unless you're really pushing the power past where a chain vape will be a challenge for any tank/wick to keep up with.

I just am not able to like this tank. It does not leak...no issues with wicking or with fitting in coils. But its just too airy a vape, with little flavor. I like my vape wetter, if thats the right word, but all I get is a turbulent airflow and vapor, but just not wet for my tastes.

If you like the design still, maybe try the dual coil version, a friend let me borrow both of his for a day and I put them on my therion and threw a couple of different builds in each. After that the SC deck on the Nano kind of seem like an afterthought to me, not something it was design for. I liked the Nano but I had to plug that back hole to get any kind of flavor out of it. Wish they would of left it top air too bc the mini has great flavor and more dense vapor, plus I think the amount of air coming into these things is more suitable for dual coils, but I even tried a single coil placed in between the velocity posts and it was still better bc of the top air.

Kind of like this...

It works, you just push it up against the holes and cut the rayon wicks in half narda style, but as I said the chamber size and air on this thing really shines on dual coils.

In the end I decided on the mini bc the reasons above.

It's nice to have choices. For me the Nano is working great, I prefer it over the Ammit and even the Avocado24 (which was super for me in single coil mode). To me all 3 of the tanks are stellar, keepers, but other people have tanks that work better for them.

As I think we all agree flavor/taste is very personal. What is a great flavor tank to one person may not be for another. I remember when I got a very highly respected tank with great flavor, the Boreas, and was completely disappointed in it. And that's not saying those folks were wrong. The flavor was great for them. Me, I couldn't get it anywhere near what I wanted. I'm just grateful the marketplace still offers a wide variety of styles in tanks and I'm hoping regulations will not eliminate that choice.

That is so true Eskie. It is interesting because to me the Boreas is still in the top 3 tanks for flavor. I still use and love it. The ONLY thing I don't love about the Boreas is it's size. I could go with a shorty version of it IF the flavor was the same. I like a shorter atty of 24-25mm.
