Imeo is right.
I found sometimes some drops of liquid in the collector tank and after filling I had some gurgling from time to time - depending how much liquid i filled in.
Since I'm using a 2nd strand of wick just at the coil there is no leakage or gurgling any more. And I never got a burnt taste with this setup until now.

I love the Odysseus with the GGTS base! :vapor:
Can't wait for the expansion kit.

Ahhh I'm jealous!!! I can't wait for mine to come in!

What do you like about it the most?

I really don't miss the rethreater/901-510 adapter combo while attaching Odysseus onto the GGTS. Those adapters just aren't reliable as GG parts.
The additional 0.5 ml for liquid is a nice feature too.:)

Sounds great :)

Btw, how far does your connector pin go up to reach the ODY pin? Does it go as far as when using the rethreader + adaptor? I'm just trying to visualize what my TS will look like with different batteries... Thanks.

The contact area to the batterie of the pin is currently at the same level as where the threads end on my GGTS, but I think you can adjust the Odysseus in a way that the connector pin goes up more.

Here's Ody in the new base compared with the old (up is the old base and down is the new)

odybase.jpg

You can see that the part of the base that goes in the CT is bigger now, resulting a shorter Ody. When assembled and connected to the GGTS, the viewable part of the new base is about 4mm, while the old is about 6,5mm

If you are using the telescope part, it will need a coupla turns more to connect GGTS with Ody pin, so the GGTS will also get a little shorter.

Six2Arms, I replied on your other thread before I noticed this one. Imeo is correct. I had exactly the same issue as you. Identical. Make sure the side channels are fully filled with wick from top to bottom, and your leaking will be a problem of the past. If your using stock wick you need to add extra (apparently) ;)

I've been having leakage issues as well, and don't doubt Imeo's word that extra wick will solve it - I'm just unable to try it right now because my last piece of wick is in my Ody. Expecting more from Bruce tomorrow.

Can someone explain why just adding extra wick stops the leaking? Is it because it soaks up more, or does it do something else??

I had this problem last night. Awesome vape, but eventually leakage though the vent holes (using the GGTS base ). Was ready to sell this thing until I read Imeo's post, and it hit me.

Fluid dynamics 101... A fluid will travel the path of least resistance driven by gravity. Fluid also has cohesion which basically means similar molecules tend to cling together. When you drip, things happen in drops, not a stream of molecules; this is cohesion.

A small gap between the locking ring and the wick will allow the fluid to bond with the fluid in the wick, and follow said path, driven by gravity. The more liquid pressure above, the worse it gets.

Filling the gap limits the cohesive movement of the fluids, as well adding additional bonding for the fluid via the wick due to Capillary action.

P.S. Right hand was used in this reply :)

That makes sense Z! So, I should use double wick all the way down, not just where the coil is?

In a word yes.

Last night when I took mine apart to clean it I noticed that the top slot had a bit of space going through. It is kinda hard to explain but basically I could see the coil glowing through a gap in the wick where it bends down to the side channels. That being said I recommend at least making the second wick go down below the negative nut so it holds it in place however I just made both of my pieces go all the way down to the posative but o-ring and I am no longer getting any leaking or flooding. Before I did this even with all the extra o-rings I put on if I even opened the juice controll a little (1/4 turn) it would flood. Now I have it opened all the way and no more flooding.
