OFF TOPIC: Can anyone help me wih a wierd computer problem?

Ever since I got back to China this trip, because of my ongoing computer problems, I've kept all my important docs on a flash drive. Something very very wierd happened though. I've got no idea when why or how, but I just discovered that all my folders are showing on my flash drive as applications, not folders.

I mean, if I look at them in windows explorer, under Type they are listed as Applications, not as File Folders.

I just noticed this tonight when I tried to send a file using Yahoo Mail. I was trying to open a folder to attach a file from inside it, but when I selected the folder instead of opening it Yahoo tried to attach the whole folder, and I noticed that Yahoo called it an .exe file.

So, does anyone know how this might have happened, and more importantly, does anyone know how I can change them back to folders?

Does the drive use encryption? maybe its turned on?

What does it show you when you use the drive on another computer?

Does the flash drive have some "Application Launcher" (U3 or similar) software on it? That's the only thing I can see causing them to be considered as applications, because when you add files, the app launcher assumes you're adding programs.

That's probably it, and I bet the virus came preinstalled on this crap chinese windows clone OS.
