Hey darri, missed u man. I have only been here for 5 months or so, and I miss how it used to be, goofing around and having fun, I have been like you, asked the same questions, that is why I have done some vids, so when I see it I just copy and paste a link to them.

I miss all the goofing around everyone did, I miss seeing Andy, you Born Steve, and the gang goofing around in chat, it was so fun... I wana bring back those days...

KD!! Hope you are doing well. :) I say we take the forums back over. I'm sick and tired of coming in here and seeing all the whining and complaining about everything. If you have a question the first thing you should do is search for it. The second thing you should do is search for it in good site search. Then if all else fails ask in here.

I agree completely. Unfortunately, the search feature on this forum is not very good. It just doesn't do a good job, no one's fault really. And then of course, sometimes you just have a question you can't seem to find an answer to, and since this is a forum, people just feel that they should be able to ask a question without being chastised and made to feel stupid with numerous posts from "veterans".

When I first started to come here, the V4L sub-forum became my first stop before I ordered any products or had any questions. Now it's the last. And then of course, that means I sometimes miss the sales, and V4L misses the sale. But I grew weary of wading through page after page of posts by members who were permitted to be rude and insulting to other members, just to find the answer to a question. And they were actually encouraged to be that way, while other members encouraged posters to not be so "dumb". So I go elsewhere now to see whats on sale.

I have to say this is the first forum I've ever seen that actually encourages people NOT to ask a question if they can't find the answer by using the search feature.

Thank you Ragamuffin! I couldn't have said it better. I started posted here in February, and I think this has been a friendly, helpful, place for the most part. I disagree with the "old-timers" "dissing" this forum. This forum has been helpful to me, and I hope I have been helpful to others. If you are starting to vape, you have many questions. I, myself, do not like members being rude to new-comers. It is usually faster and nicer to just answer a question than to find where the answer appeared in the past and post a link to it.

I know friendships have been made here, and I know people have moved on, either to different forums, or just because all their questions have been answered. I don't think Steve sees this forum as only a social gathering, but rather as a place to be helpful to people who are trying to stop smoking.:2c:

Well it is a lot different then 5-6 months ago, I started reading the forum 6 months ago and I joined 5 months ago. I saw some questions asked but it was a lot of goofing around with Steve, Mark, Born aka Ryan, Val, Leaford, SawLight and a lot of other friends I became to love as my own family. It is just professional now. No goofing around, not that much fun, I get questions here which I do not mind, but again it is all the same questions over and over.

Not to sound like an ... but the search button does wonders, I want it to be fun again. I really miss the fun and games, If Steve or mark posts, it is just done in client-worker kind of deal.

I want the family we had back, Darri let's try to get it back!

Vape on,
Kevin

With everyone trying to improve the attitude and having a contest and people coming back to cheer the place up I think that we could take a break from the complaining and insulting for a bit.It works much better if you try to help people instead of hurt people.Dont worry so much what other people are doing, look at your own behavior and how you react.Just try to be nice.Give it a try.

I agree somewhat with both sides.

I think what some people are actually irritated about was the consistent thread duplication that was going on for such a long time.

When it comes to searching, most of the time the information you were looking for could be found in the first three pages of the subforum.

If you notice sometimes, you'll see two or three threads entitled "whats the difference between WOW and COOL carts".

Let us not forget the whole "Wheres The Juice?" thread fiasco...lol.

At the end of the day, this IS a place for new vapers to ask questions, and old vapers to gather (even if somewhat curmudgeonly).

Let's be honest, have you ever seen such a crazy mish-mash of people who, for the most part, actually get along? There's something pretty special afoot in this subforum, even if we do have to treat it with kid gloves on occasion.

:)

Thats what I meant, kid gloves, give and take.If we joke around, let it go.If someones asking the same question thats answered 3 threads down, dont get mad.I go by what my granpa always said,if you cant say something nice or helpful, dont say anything at all.I start to post a smartass comment in return to a rude comment and I delete it and walk away,USUALLY.Try that.

^I agree 100% !!!^

Being a fairly new PV user. I know that when you first start out, it is SO overwhelming. Sometimes "dumb" questions might be so to some of us that have a grasp on vaping. But to newby's it is a legitimate question. However, reading reading and some more reading is the first piece of advice, I would give to anyone first starting out. That includes searching.

Plus, things werent so easy when some of us started and it took some reading and research to figure things out.Sometimes we think you should earn it a little.READ and make an effort. It sounds kinda mean, but its not.Its about learning and trying things and experimenting.New things dont happen if you dont.Even new people can contribute. The Taryn spin didnt come from a veteran.I miss Taryn.

I totally agree with every word of your post. For some reason, V4L doesn't seem to care how its new or potential customers are treated on this forum. The opening post of this thread is incredibly insulting and discouraging to newcomers.

I read and used the search button a lot when I first started, I bearly asked questions. If I did it was something I could not find.

It is not insulting at all, maybe a little discouraging but not insulting at all. He is saying how it used to be.
