No tip -- the lips will get a little warm!!!8-o
Well my original 357 was down to 1.3 ohms and was starting to lose a slight bit of performance even after the frequent Everclear soakings. I decided to look into the burn a little myself yesterday since I knew I had a backup if I screwed it up.
I soaked it as usual, then blew out excess Everclear from batty end of course. I used a dropper and added 3 drops of Everclear back into it and did a short burst burn. I repeated this process a few times and added more alcohol in between. Once I was done I soaked for a minute and blew out the excess again.
When I went to use it the performance was a tad puny but I had a good feeling that I just needed to rid the alcohol to get this atty purring again. It took a bit of puny puffing before the atty sprung back to life. Now it is working AWESOME!!! Oh and now it also reads 1.5ohms again instead of 1.3
I've always been leery of the dry burns but with the alcohol in there I felt a little less worried. I'm glad I took the risk though as the atty is back to stellar performance. Over a month old now. I am tickled!!!

I always thought u were supposed to dry burn completely dry...no everclear here, but would this work with 91% ISO?

I hope so cause thats what I use now in the ultrasonic and its been working real well for me so far. Btw I went from hating these to really love'n them![]()
how are you cleaning them ultrasonically? Do you have a machine?
ive been doing dry burns on em as well, its a little easier to control with the darwin, i will be getting an ultrasonic cleaner though
