The gurgle is pretty key. If I don't hear ANY gurgle at all, I know I need more juice!
It would never hurt to blow all the juice out and see what happens by just dripping. Maybe you will get a different result
HH .357 attys work marvelously on Reos. Rob, the Reo inventor/maker/distributor has said he uses them himself and loves them.
HH, WE have a vape meet every second sonday of every month, at Jillians Billiards in Worcester, its happening 2/12 . from 1pm till 6pm, theres a great group of people that go every month, at the last one there were 4 to six TVN show host's at the meet, i think there were close to 30 people at that meet.
check us out at new england group at ECF , and NeweEngland vapers group on facebook,
Anyone using the HH.357 w/Super T's "VapeMate" juice feeder system ?
It takes some getting used to and I still have to be patient with it. If you are new to it I'd suggest not using the pick up tube or o ring. And practice squonking with water. It took me over a month to get used to it even a little.

I´ve been using now for few days a custom made, 901 style, HH357. Before I´ve been using long barrels, short barrels, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 ohms and the 901s. What I discovered was that I preferred 901 over the 510 because of the taste and it also gave me the kind of draw I preferred more. Of the 510s I liked the 3.0ohm version the best. I felt it gave me more taste, mellow vapor without any spitting problems which can occur when I´m putting too much juice into one or when I´m chain vaping and the atty get´s really hot.
After being very satisfied with my HH357 attys I started to think what if you could combine the best things from both of the attys I like best and then of course I started to take my thinking forward and started to speculate what else could be optimized to make it fit my needs as well as possible.
Well I got up my nerve and PM:t Hanna and asked "When could a 901 version of HH357 over 510 version, taste over TH preferring, 100%VG over everything else and eagerly for the higher ohm 901 version waiting HC vaper become a guinea pig for a custom build atty designed for users like me", well for a pleasant surprise Hanna answered straight away letting me know that he would happily make me something, just asking me for a description of what would I like.
The following was the vague description of what I wanted:
- A 901 style(the taste is better than with the 510 ones, I´ve tried 1.5/2.0/3.0 ones)
- About 3 ohms(of the 510 I like the 3.0ohm the best, I use 5volt and VV mods)
- The filler so that it´s optimal for use with 100%VG or other thicker juices(I diy my juices to a 100% VG base)
- I like the "loose" draw I get with the 901(this is just to compare to the draw I get from 510 ones, if for example the optimal filler for VG effects the draw, I don´t mind)
- The tube long and black but as you probably guess already, this is of no importance, I´ll go for pink and short in a heart beat if it´s there otherwise
When trying to but in one clause it probably would be like this:"Taste comes first on higher ohms..."
So what did I get? It´s black, a bit longer than a normal 901, it has a bigger air hole on the side of the tube and it holds significantly more juice(100%VG) than my other HH357s.
I use normally two pairs of 901s, one pair for fruit flavors and other for desserts and such. So I know my four attys quite well. They perform very identically but one of these four likes to be given only two drops of juice at a time. If I give it more, on the first draws I can here a very distinct "crackling" sound and the vapor production isn´t optimal, it then levels off and works just as great as the others.
So how does the "Finnish Special" perform? Great, perfect, better to my liking than I dared to hope! As I stalked the mailman, I started to wonder what will the looser draw, bigger air hole, VG optimized filler combine in to? Would the draw be too loose, missing the "back pressure", the feeling that you are sucking "against something"? Well no, as you are getting more air flow, it all just produces more vapor and taste, resulting in to even more mellow vapor. Even though it allows high air flow, it won´t end up being too loose because you can draw harder and get the same kind of "back pressure" as you get with the normal 901 but end up with more vapor and taste in the same time or get the same amount of vapor with a shorter draw.
How does the optimization for taste work out? One of the hardest/faintest flavors I think is pear. With cheap chinese 510 you´ll never IMHO get the real pear taste, you´ll only end up with unidentified faint something or too strong solution which has too artificial and acidy flavor which again has to be corrected with sweetener/maltol or something and you´ll end up drifting further off from the intended flavor. With the 901 style HH357 I already got what I think was a good pear taste, with the "Finnish Special" the flavor is rich. So I have been able to get from unidentified faint acidy something to almost sweet rich pear without touching the recipe or the strength of the solution.
And what about the VG optimized filler? I´m dripping about six drops of juice at a time. When I put eight it starts to make the distinct "crackling" sound but does´t affect the vapor. So I am very pleased with how it holds my VG, I´m dripping much less frequently as I used to. It doesn´t spit or flood even if I "over fill" it, it just starts to make the distinct "crackling" sound.
And of course the vapor production, anyone who likes the HH357 knows that with everything else it produces lot´s of vapor. Even though it was not important attribute when asking Hanna to come up with this one, still this is the one to choke the metaphorical donkey with, the amount of vapor, it´s just ridiculous. Maybe it´s the combination of VG, air, ability to use higher voltage but anyway it´s just plain ridiculous. With about the same wattage there´s a real difference in this and the standard HH357 901.
I can recommend the "Finnish Special" without reservation to any VG user who prefers taste when vaping and as a trade upper you´ll end up triggering the fire alarm.
Sorry about the funny wording and broken English, it isn´t even my second language. Just trying to describe my feelings the best I could.
Here´s a picture of the "Finnish Special" with it´s un customized 901 brother...
