My review on a "FinnishSpecial" a Custom 100%VG, 901 style HH357 is on the Avid website, under custom reviews. I think it´s also post #1355 on this thread.

Many thanks for that, sadly I only use a REO mini, so 901 is a no go for me, dunno if it would work with a thread conversion thingie...

I'd be curious to know what the average life expectancy of HH 357 (LR and SR and HR) ... i assume most have the LR 1.5's ...
I tend to be superstitious about things like if it works good, don't try anything different, so i usually have a LR on hand...:)
I use vodka so far, but again, MWA doesn't do much of anything other than keep them wet, and he has the most life.

I would put mine (2.5ohms, personally I can't stand anything lower than that with 24mg Boba's, just kills the taste for me) at around 2 months with daily cleaning. I ordered 2 last time I bought some and I have been using them for 2 months (I only vape with HHs), still hit as hard as the first day.

it's call an adapter; 510 to 901.... easy as can be; i'd recommend a "stealth" adapter (open end for b/f) ... some are cheapies and some are overpriced... the better vendors have stealth = lower profile. Any should work on the Reo. Many use a drip shield on the 901 because the air draw is a hole on the side and juice can leak out. I don't like what it does to the draw, but if the atty is too airy i use it.

I use the 901 HH on my Reo Grand and it is fantastic. Just one tip. I found the stealth adapter that Avid sells harder to use than a regular sized adapter. It may be that with the stealth adapter the atty sits too low for a drip shield to work properly. It almost seems like the bottom hole is being blocked by the lower o-ring of the drip shield.

On another note, my new V2 901 is performing quite well, but what I do notice is that it seemed to take much longer to break in correctly. Also, it seems much more prone to flooding. I feel that the older model would still produce good, but not optimal vapor when over fed. This new one just about quits if it has too much liquid, but its a fine line between perfect and flooded.
For reference I have a custom 901 (standard length) 1.8 ohm tuned for VG.

Any chance you could link an adapter that you have found works well with your grand for me?

Unfortunately, most vendor's sites are block for me at work so I cannot give you a direct link right now. If you look at Empire Mods you should be able to find the 901-510 adapter. I have two of them and they perform flawlessly with any 901 I put on my 510 Reo.

Regarding longevity, I was wondering what people who are using ultrasonic cleaners to clean these have experienced. I have turned to using vinegar (overnight) to soak the HHs, then I clean them by sealing the top with an 808 silicone mouthpiece and drawing fresh vinegar through them by inserting a syringe into the hole on the mouthpiece. After this, I rinse out ALL the vinegar with warm water and dry for about 5-10 minutes with a hair dryer blowing at the HHs. This gets the job done pretty well, but after 1 day, performance drops off again. Of course, atty killin' Boba's is probably contributing a lot to this.

I use an ultrasonic cleaner and I think it´s an essential part of my cleaning procedure. I also use vinegar but I combine it with baking soda.

Great idea, I'd forgotten about the baking sod+vinegar combination...off to try that now, got an HH to clean ;)

When you use baking soda + vinegar how long does it take to dry out before you can use it again?

I´ll just rinse it and it´s ready to go. No differ than after a PGA or Vodka soak. Just try to get most of the liquid out as you might get nice after burner effect... :D

Is anyone else confused about the Custom order section offering only a choice of 100%VG or 100%PG... I usually order a blend, but now that i think about it, is the only legit reason to order a custom because you vape 100% of one or the other?

I think there are only custom 901s and custom color selections (not that I care for any of those) but I could be wrong...
