Had a few things happening around here today....
We'd gotten a bit of rain overnight when a little after 8am, we got a deluge with about 1/4" in about 10 minutes. All total ( for now ), we've had just about 1 1/4" so far today.
Along with the deluge, came a bit of unexpected excitement. Just before I shut off the computer to get a shower before work, I thought I'd check on the line of storms that brought the rain so I'd know what to expect at work today. What I didn't expect to see was a tornado warning just to the east of me, right about where my exGF lives... zoomed in and sure enough there was some rotation there. So I quickly dialed her up and turned on the TV. I mentioned to her that she may want to get into the shelter when the storm chaser that was right by her, mentioned seeing some debri falling. That tornado went just to the south of where she lived and was to the east of her almost as quickly as I'd called her.
After getting to work, I heard there was another tornado in Midwest City ( just NE of me ) that had flipped about 3 cars in a strip mall. All in all... they currently think we had about 10 different spin ups that caused damage in the area.
After work, I thought I was going to get to play plumber again since I needed to replace my garbage disposal that had come in today. So I got my tools together and cleared out under the sink. Then had to stop when I find out my channel locks were a little too small to loosen the plastic nut on the drain pipe. So that halted any sort of progress... at least until I visit Harbor Freight and get a bigger pair. If they hadn't over tightened the nut, I probably would have been fine with what I had.. but it is what it is.
To celebrate all of this stuff... I opened my first can of chili for the season... At least I'll get to enjoy that if nothing else went right...
