Wow.... Maybe we should start watching for aurora's down this way in a couple of days ( or whenever it's expected to arrive )...
If anyone is in the forecast areas of Irma, do yourself a favor and evacuate. We evacuated for Katrina and I know people who stayed and "rode it out". Every one of them say it was the worst mistake of their lives.

But, I will be staying at the hotel i work at. It's a 3 year old building so it "should" be built with pretty good codes. I'll have shelter, food the generator wont run the whole hotel but enough to do some good.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you ( and others of course ) to be safe...
I just looked at the latest NHC forecast and I see it's moved to the east side of Florida ( instead of the middle like yesterday )... hopefully that easterly trend continues so the eye doesn't pass over land along with the stronger winds that area has.
Yeah, i hoping that too, but it has to get FAR off shore, this is a big one. i'm scared of it moving close off shore moving up the coast and not
losing strength

I've been wondering about you as well... it seems a lot of burning going on up in your neck of the woods... So you and the Girl stay safe also...
We are about 8 miles from the eagle creek fire. Covered in ash and smoke. Just got back to town today though so missed a chunk of it. Can barely see across the street. Don't worry about us. Our Florida people are in much more of a predicament.
That sounds a mess... I've got a cousin ( or uncle, never can get that difference right
) in Montana and they've got fires all around their area also... The closest is around 5 miles he mentioned but there are also mountain between the fires and where he lives...Either case... fire or hurricane... we all want everyone to be safe... we play no favorites here...
