5PM update has it shifting west, European model furthest west.

I don't like that West palm beach/Port st lucie thing at all,,,,,,, if You draw a straight line between WPB & PSL you draw a line over me

Ignore the previous descriptions on the forecasted path... The NHC has also updated the forecast and it's as you said.. the center shifted west... somewhere about 35 miles to the west. I'm not sure that's all that great... The highest winds are typically on the E and NE sides of the eye, on the upside, if that tract holds true ( I'm sure it will change often ), it also means that it will have tracked over more land which should help decrease the intensity by the time it reaches your area.

Just keep an eye on the forecast from the NHC at National Hurricane Center ... they watch and use all of the models to update what they post as their forecast based on which ones are the more accurate at the time of their posting them.

Yeah further west is good for "me" even though we will be on the east side. but like You said more land should calm it down a bit.

My worry was it staying east, just off the coast going all the way up not long strength. Hope that don't happen on either coast

A CME has just hit Earth's magnetic field (Sept.7th at ~2300 UT). This is the debris from Wednesday's decade-class X9 solar flare. It arrived earlier than expected, confirming that the storm cloud is both fast and potent. A severe G4-class geomagnetic storm is in progress as our planet's magnetic field reverberates from the impact.

Jmur and Oliverturtle are at high enough latitudes they will likely be able to see an aurora ( if the clouds and smoke are not in the way... )

I'll be staying up late to see if I can get lucky but with a near full Moon out... it'll have to be really lucky :)

Biggest one in 12 years and the sun is still popping them off real fast,I have a feeling this winter is going to be a bear :nah:

I see Hurricane Irma has dropped to a Cat 4 and the track shifted a little more to the west. Sounds like good trends ( if anything good can be said of a hurricane this size )

It just went through an EWRC (eye wall replacement cycle)they say it will speed back up again soon, don't start the party yet FL. :(

    I still heres :D

I hope your still there on Monday morning,if your internet goes down text me and I'll past it along
