Good afternoon y'all, I hope everyone's having a great Tuesday. :) I went to a local job fair today, something that my GF pointed out to me last week. Gotta love my woman! :D Anyway, it was a good experience and I'm glad I went.

Fall's officially here with temps starting between shudder and Brrrrrrrr... :D

Started in the mid-40's, it's climbed to 50° now and only a brisk 59° forecasted for our high today... Currently it's somewhere between a medium jacket and a heavy one... neither is just right :)

I've got a question for you RDS. My laptop didn't come with Microsoft Office on it. I've heard of open-source word processing programs that can work with Word documents and don't cost anything to install/use. You wouldn't have any suggestions for this type of program, would you? Thanks in advance!

That's actually typical... and if they do come with MS Office, it's a trial version at best.

LibreOffice is what I recommend most... it's a fork of OpenOffice that leans more towards business users and has a more typical ( read old style ) menu bar instead of the newer ribbon types that many seem to have now.

One set of settings that I change in the open versions like those... is the default file type settings. By default they'll save in an "open" format document type and I like to set them to one of the MS Office types instead ( ie xlsx, docx etc )
