Eric - I wish you the best with all of this, and WePay is not a problem for me. Due to a couple of other suppliers I use for other things, I have an account there so it's easy for me to pay that way if you send an invoice through that.

I didn't see a response on "boB"'s screenname at KBV, apologies if I missed it, but if it wasn't listed for you it's zbasspro. I agree he is a great guy. I know they are right now reprogramming their site for the new merchant account they got, so their site is offline atm. I hope this is helpful to you, and if you need help w/anything, just let me know. :)

Hey Eric I'm glad to hear you're fairing well despite the drama.

Anyone know a reliable internet resource for information about the developing ecig/FDA/tax laws and regulations?

I was hoping the big tobacco boys would take longer to throw their weight around... this makes me rage. Funny I was looking for a current legislation issue on which to write my Political Science paper this semester. My state's Senator will be receiving it.

Almost 24 hours no posts? Wow

I am kind of running around trying to work other angles on this, trying to get a new merchant account, trying to get my money from the bank, plus many of the vendors have come back from vacation and they all want to talk :)

It takes a toll.

Update

Hello all, in the many many hours of calling and contacting banks and merchant account suppliers it seems that almost everyone is either saying no or is charging huge fees.

To that end I wanted to poll you guys and gals.

It seems the prevailing rate for these generous people who have decided to accept ecig providers is about 8% per transaction plus a transaction fee plus a large monthly fee plus a large percentage hold (meaning they hold a large percentage back from payment for 60+ days)

In light of this, while I am enchoraged that I might be able to continue, knowing the fees are so high means I need to change my business model slightly. This means I wouldn't be able to offer my 5% discount for repeat customers and might have to raise prices a bit to cover the fees.

It boils down to about 14-15% per average order and in some cases I was making less than that as "profit" (reinvestment money) so unless I raise prices a bit after all is said and done, this will become a wash for me and I can't do this much work for nothing.

My question is this... is my service level and persona enough to keep you all with me? Even if prices are slightly higher?

If your prices are slightly higher than they are now and not higher than other vendors is what I assume you mean?? Even raising your prices some you will still be cheaper or at least in line with other vendors and I wouldn't hesitate to continue buying from you. There are many reasons I consider you "my vendor" and price is further down on the list than the other reasons.

I would rather see you not try to sell items that require a lot of capital to keep in stock. Items that are new to the industry and that other vendors can afford to gamble with. I know it's fun to get in all the newest and "greatest" but they often come with expensive problems and tie up a lot of capital.

Keep working on another solution...there is no sense giving in a crooked merchant processor that much control over YOUR business, because if they're this bad up front, it's only going to get worse for you. Keep working to find the one(s) you can reasonably work with.

I agree, I am going to continue to look but at some point I have to decide, making people use a separate transaction processor is a stop-gap not a solution, at least not for me. It takes a lot longer to process an order this way and it's not fair to the customer to have to wait.

still, I haven't "given in" yet :)

Eric, I will be totally honest as you have been with us. I'm pretty much set with my mods and about the only thing I will be purchasing for sure is Boge cartos. Now you have said these are a wash for you as far as profit and I can believe that by your prices. I will be trying some juice and that may become a future purchase as well, but I'm in love with my favorite juice vendor so that may be a tough sell for anyone to get me to switch, but for some reason I have high hopes for yours to become a staple for me.

Now here is what I want everyone here to think about. This country is going downhill rapidly with the influx of Wal-Mart and other don't give a damn about this country stores. We have to support our small American business man, Eric being a prime example. So Eric, as long as your prices are relatively comparable, then I am staying right here. I'm willing to pay slightly higher prices than other vendors even as long as I get great customer service and good products I can depend on. Eric provides this. I wish these were not made in China as that just eats me up, but until an American carto company comes along that can produce a carto to depend on, I have no choice.

Sorry for the soapbox but felt the need to say it.
