Ok, thanks! I figure we'll check the tension when we change the battery which will be @ once a year, unless Jackie notices diminished performance before that. I checked to make sure the LGHG2 was indeed installed so I know what the initial tension is.

I should get the last P3 update on both devices. Maybe. Dunno.

What version you on now?

I like the sound of the short click, long click menu option for the manual menu selection. I remember when somebody here suggested that, or was that in the Radius thread?

I can't decide whether to get P3 update 40 or not. I bought a used P3 and just sent it back last month for update 39 ... shoot.

Anyone have any idea what the "Battery management improvements and bug fixes" are in ver 40?

Although a nice to have, I won't send the P3 back to Provape just for "Manual Menu Mode". The P3 is pretty much a set it and forget it device for me.

There isn't a retailer near me with update capability and the only cost effective solution would be to send it back to Provape.

I have Ver38. Didn't even know Ver40 was out. Now I want to ship them somewhere for updates.
Dunno about short or long clicks, but manual selection is a thing the Ver40 offers to P3:

P3 Software Update V40 Now available.

We recommend that all P3 devices upgrade to the latest version.
This release has the following improvement:
Battery management improvements and bug fixes.
Manual Menu Mode. This mode allows you to select Auto or Manual for the menu scrolling. When in Manual mode, you can control the menu by short and long presses.

Yup, that's the one reason I sent mine back after only having it back for a few days from upgrade to V39  I'm lucky like that in life...

Manual Menu Mode just doesn't blow my skirt up. I have several devices only one of which is a P3. None have the MMM feature so I don't know what I'm missing I guess.

Now, the Battery Management improvements and BUG fixes interest me ... especially if there is ANYTHING REMOTELY to do with safety.

While Provape is a pleasure to work with and support is outstanding !!! ... just wish it weren't such a hassle to get P3's updated (all the way to the other end of the USA) or there was an update capable dealer within a hundred miles.

I'll be crying when the Radius has an update as well though ... I run Linux OS and don't even normally have access to any kind of MS Windows device in order to install firmware updates. I'd have to try and find one ... shoot.

And that's the hassle. And if I'm going to use mail, it's going back to Provape, not an authorized update center somewhere in my region where "debbie joe schmucatelli" might perform the update

EDIT: Also, some update centers charge a fee to update a device, especially if you didn't buy the device from them. Provape doesn't charge for the update and just charges $5 for return shipping. Each update still ends up costing almost a Jackson after all is said and done though ... shipping both ways and trip(s) to the post office and back.

How much was it?
199$, I almost held off till I did the old add ten to cart and update qty trick, there was only one...I've been wanting a Ti P3 for a very long time, and had pretty much given up hope on getting one. I'm feeling pretty lucky that I got this deal :)
