Boost allows me to use fatter wire in my rebuilds...hence, more coil area which leads to more flavor and more vapor volume. Boost is a direct enhancement in the vaping quality. All the other P3 enhancements are conveniences that are not directly related to the vape quality. IMHO

I kind of agree with you in as much as the boost feature alone is worth the price of admission, but remember the added headroom up to 20W and 5.5A are necessary for you to make boost possible - so it's not just boost, it's all the features that make boost possible ... I suspect when someone posts the trace from a scope, we'll see some more sophisticated stuff going on with PWM... particularly when you set power as opposed to voltage.

Busardo scoped it in his review. Power and voltage spike I believe he said 'round 20% if I recall while in boost mode. Though the higher your power/voltage is set the less the boost impacts it (makes sense)

Hey everyone. P3's been out a while now, and surely you must have a feature wishlist. Let's give ProVape some ideas!

My P3 WISHLIST for 2015:

• Display duration option of 0 to 1 second added. This is different from the "off" selection in that when you push the button, the display lights up, but only while you're pushing the button. This is good for quick checks, which can't be done if the display is "off". Better yet would be to change the behavior of the display and not have it on at all while firing, only during a single button press for the set duration. I find myself turning the display off at night, and on during the day a lot.

• Red LED blinking when battery low, exactly like the v2.5 - enough said?

• Battery voltage/percentage display toggle on main screen. Since we get boost/ohms and watts/volts toggles, why not add one more for the battery? Not everyone likes the percentage meter. A battery voltage display toggle would please everyone (and that's usually so hard to do).

• 35W/5.6A/6.3V limit increase (still well within 18350 safety limits). There are the low-wattage folks who are perfectly happy with 10W. I use a lot of tanks, from the Nautilus to the Kayfun and less than 20W. However, drippers, genesis, etc. often demand more than 20W to operate properly. For those who don't understand, basically 15W on a 6-second draw is the same as 30W on a 3-second draw. The difference is ease of the draw. Everyone has their own preference/style. With the numbers I've worked out above, it should be well within ProVape's safety concerns.

Let's get a bit more crazy now...

• Internal (menu only) date/clock/location, which auto dims the display in evening (using pre-programmed sunset curves, like home weather stations, for best accuracy). Who wouldn't want a bright display during the day, and a dimmer one at night? With the user setting the meaning of both "bright" and "dim" with the current 1-5 scale, should please everyone once again.

• With date/clock option above, novelty button LED color combinations (for example, red/green for Christmas, red/white/blue for 4th of July, etc.). Why not have some fun? I equate this idea to other novel tricks, such as VLC player adding a santa hat on the orange cone around Christmas time.

• Temperature control (w/nickle wire, ala DNA40). I'm sure this will come to all VV/VW mods someday. Wouldn't be difficult to add to the P3 and charge for the update. Far less R&D, manufacturing overhead, etc. for ProVape, far greater profit margin for ProVape, and much better on our wallets. Win/win/win.

Anyone else have any ideas to add?

No, I haven't. What about them?

R

They might help with your VT condition. Worth a shot anyway, eh? :)

Kat please no sex talk here. You are going to start yet another conversation.

Was it the pickles that got to you..... or the Manfred Mann reference? ;)

Should have the Kanger subtank tomorrow or Monday, and after research and reviews, I am very much looking forward to it crowning my P3! I know the p3 won't fire the .5 coils, but they look incredibly easy to rebuild, comes with a 1.2ohm spare coil, and an rta kayfun like deck as well! 6mls! And no concern of wicking material, I've been toying off and on with the nautilus since it was first released, and BVC or BDC are just not for me.
I can't believe this tank hasn't made even a tiny splash in this P3 community! Will post pics and thoughts.

I splashed it :( http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ti-saloon-iv-back-alley-880.html#post14874062

Great set up!!! I've been using it for about 10 days.
Kanger hit a home run with this thing. Quality blows away all the tanks in the Aspire series away. Solid stainless throughout. No leaks, gurgles burnt coils.
The Kayfun style option works very well. Not Kayfun quality but very close.
I'm really happy that there's an alternative to the BVC wicking material with all the chatter going on.
Still have more than a years worth of BVC coils.
A P3 base would be a great addition.
Enjoy yours.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear. The 1.2 and .5 coils look stupidly easy to rebuild, and that's what I plan on doing. Can't deal with RTAs for my daily oot and aboot tanks, as the weather up here during winter leads to leak city. Very excited

The coils are beyond stupid easy to rebuild. I haven't been much of a Kanger fan in the past. Since they made the Mega they have been making some big strides.
I'm really impressed with this one.

I know this may not be popular, but I would like to see a box P3 sold along with the tube version which is about perfect.

As someone who ultimately prefers boxes to tubes that would be a very difficult product to resist* for me.

Are we talking (Lets be completely honest here) cookie cutter box with the P3 chip inside it? Or are we talking like, Reo-esque, bottom feeding, unbreakable unibody design? A (basically or actually) Reo with a P3 driving it would be pretty much an instant "Sold Out" item.

I went through my Reo stage only to learn that box mods are not my preference, but I could see them selling fast. Then again, this very same point was made in the Provari's early days and came to no avail, so...

Idunno, something along these lines maybe, with a Provi chip and a display screen.

Not a bottom feeder, just a regular mod.

I finally took a vape off my P3
excited.gif

I couldn't wait any longer, so Christmas night I put one of my Protank 2's on it and took a few vapes. I tried to test out the Boost feature, but I had a 2.2Ω coil in the PT2 so it didn't work the way it should. It was definitely doing something, but to be honest I didn't really like what it was doing. I am hoping that will change when I finally test out my KFL+ with some 28g Kanthal

Oh and I went ahead and ordered some Koh Gen Do from Nordstrom.com :D I am a little hesitant about using it, but working with Silica is just too frustrating  Besides everyone keeps saying that KGD is the way to go :)
