Being someone who does lung hits, I find the boost feature to be pretty much useless. Maybe if you're into gentle little puffs (comparatively speaking) this has more significance. I routinely overrun devices with a 10 second timer. For me, what happens during the first second or two seems to get lost in the remainder of the vape. I've tried this function on both of my P3s, and I honestly don't notice a difference.

Funny, I primarily do lung hits with boost on my P3.

BOOM!!!!
Here it is!!!
Damn that was back there a-ways!!!
Granted, it's an old post, done on a Beta, but it's the closest to actual testing we've got!
EDIT:
Ignorant statement retracted.
Humility restored.

Thanks for that- was considering pulling out my soldering iron to build a new test connector (god knows where my old one is) and dusting off my Fluke

How low will this P3 actually fire? I know it says .7, but has anyone gone lower?

If you plug the numbers into an ohms law calculator a 5.5 amp limit at 20 watts gives a minimum resistance of 0.66 ohms.....

(sent from an alien device which translates English into Klingon without my approval)

Funny, since switching to the P3 my whole world has changed- I finally moved to RDAs with 26ga, and I've switched to taking long lung hits - 10 + seconds- I've had to adjust my juice mix and quadrupled my battery cycle and all the other changes that come along with heavier gauge. Perhaps it's just the way you're using it or the settings you're on, but I have to disagree in as much as I do definitely notice the difference with boost on- Yes you can accomplish a similar result preheating a second before you hit, or doing a warm up puff (like we used to with analogs), but it's not the same.

FWIW...I've also switched back and forth between my VS (DNA 30) and the P3. While it would be nice to have some real data, I don't need a chart or meter to tell you that the P3 is definitely a different animal- subjectively it's much more consistent, and again, I can definitely feel the boost when it's on at 14-15W and I start inhaling as I hit the power button.

Much as I believe data will eventually tell the story on what's going on with boost, and everything else, there's a lot to be said about just enjoying the damned thing because end of day that's all that really matters.

I use 30 gauge on my Kayfuns because even when I drop to 28 ga I get impatient with the dwell. Forget 26 gauge. I vape at low power...7 - 10 watts. Just not enough power to get 28 and thicker up to temp without a long dwell. I'm certain the boost feature will be a favorite of mine as I can now use 26 and 28 ga and all the benefits of using more wire.

As for the polished....y'all can have that one. Looks too much like a $39.95 Chinese mod to me. Enjoy the fingerprints. :)

My very first Provari was Polished. I kept for all of 20 minutes. I bought it, walked out of the store, drove away, looked at it and saw all these finger prints. I turned around, drove back to the store, and traded it for Satin Silver. For me, SS is likely the only finish any Provari of mine will have.

That was me 3 weeks ago- happily cruising along with my trusty 18490's and my P2... pop that 26ga on and you'll be up to 15W wishing you could find a 3000mAh IMR 18490 ... and there's just no going back!

I agree on the polished- I have a P1 in chrome and .. well.. it's been upgraded to the 2.5 board but hasn't seen much use....what was I thinking?

The satin silver is a workman like finish. My V2 is satin and I always liked it. However, some of the other colors are attractive as well.
