Maybe it's safety related
Maybe a person can adjust how low of resistance it can fire or how high of wattage it will go.
But can't they block them functions :?:
I wouldn't think a person can adjust wattage/resistance. If they could, wouldn't a lot of the vape shop employees have done it? But like you said..block functions that aren't part of the update. I'd definitely buy one as I have a few P3's and don't really like lugging them all in to the shop.

Yes, Me Too!!!

I would pay for it too.
I'd definitely be in for buying a P3/Procyon updater!

Me 3, or 4, or 5. I have 5 P3s at this point, so I order a Procyon, that's 6 mods that need firmware updates. By 3 months from now, when I've convinced myself I actually need 3 Procyons and the Procyon Ti, and then, etc... I'd much rather just pay $[whatever the firmware updater costs], then keep shipping them back. Even if it's not a uber-popular option and 98% of your customers won't care about it, it'd be very cool if ProVape offered their slightly more advanced users the option of purchasing a firmware updater. "By using this device you agree to the 49 pages of fine print in this TOS which basically states: nothing at all, ever, is our fault. click OK to accept all the stuff you're never gonna read and if you brick your e-cig, then, send it back to us just like you would've had to do anyway without the firmware updater).

If there aren't any significant legal consequences of ProVape making the updater available to their customers, it'd be a nice option to be able to buy it. Or sell it to customers who have ordered more than half a dozen of your devices, or... something! I want plz.

It's a lot more complex than that. You'd have to decompile the firmware, change the right values, recalculate checksums, recomplile firmware, and ProVape likely has other checks in place that would disallow the firmware to be flashed if it wasn't authentic. Just a guess. That, and the Radius firmware needs a live connection to ProVape, so you don't really even have access to the firmware in the first place. The P3/Procyon could be done the same way in theory, but that big bulky programmer says a USB connection wouldn't work anyway.

I look at the Procyon and... I really like it. So far, in my opinion, based on the pics anyway, it's the nicest aesthetics ProVari has ever come out with for a tube mod. I just dunno what I'm going to do with it ... use it around the house I guess.

IDK... Translation: It's gonna take me roughly 48 hours to convince myself I need it, and add to cart. Cheers!
Let the countdown begin...

Congrats on your soon to be ProCyon purchase!!!

Jim

48 hrs is the equivalent to eternity- way too long to make a decision so just add that puppy to your cart & CHECK OUT cause just adding it to your cart means nothing!!!!
And don't worry, we'll still be sitting here ready to high five you & your order #!!!!!

Your local vape shop has a hardware box for a programmer, which interfaces between a PC and the P3. To update the Radius, you had to install the USB driver. There is no driver for a direct programmer, thus the need for the programmer box. Look up JTAG if you're curious. I haven't taken a P3 board apart, but would venture a guess that's what they're using. Maybe Vape360 would be willing to share some technical secrets? :)

PS - If it were possible to use a direct USB cable, they probably would have, but since the vape shops have a $200 programmer box, logic dictates it's not possible to do at home without the same box.

Can I buy a programmer box from someone else and then ask Provape for the software :?:

I guess I do not understand what your big issue is with the menu, it's very straight forward, simple to learn and easy to use :?: even I, who is very technical challenged, had no problems?

It's not about complexity, I agree it's easy to learn.
But menus in general should allow a user to choose from a set of options, and do nothing until a choice is made. Since P3, the menu has a life of its own, and you must choose what you want at the right time, otherwise you're punished and need to wait for the next cycle. If I'm in the menu and looking at my watch for a second to check the time, I'll probably need to wait for the next cycle. When using this mod, you have to be concentrated in it only, no place for errors.
And it's not only that, there are other issues with the menu, but this is a good example..
And it was finally solved with the Radius, I really can't understand why it's back on the Procyon.

Why, in God's name (no, it's not in vain, I'm actually thinking about Him) would you check your watch when you are adjusting your PV? o_O

mariusk....... Wilbur?

It was an Italian exclusive.

Ah, si! Grazie, bella.

I don't think they are made anymore. It was made by Del Sole, in Italy, and even when it was on their website (years ago) it was never available.

For fun you might look into an Aurora tank. It got very good initial reviews, but never caught on. I've seen them for less than this: Vision Aurora BFT NEW- Bottom Fed Tank Top Atomizer Kit - SILVER [gv-AuroraBFT-SILVER] - $24.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

ETA: Here we go: Vision Aurora BFT Kit You can't beat the price for brief amusement.

Psst, Ms. Moderator. Were you amused? ;) (NO, I STILL have not unwrapped mine....... )
