My only question at this point is do I go ahead and pull the trigger on a Radius or wait for the next Provape box iteration. If there's one in R&D I hope they come out with it soon. I'm getting the Radius in the next couple of weeks or so. Not ready to toss my nautilus mini yet LOL, but this Procyon and Kabuki has me sold on Provape.

Oh, initially while the supplied Samsung 25R was charging (it arrived @ 3.6V) ... I used an LG HG2 in the Procyon. Nice to see my setting were still there when I changed the battery out for the Samsung when charging complete. Didn't even have to use the "Save Profile" feature.
Somehow I don't imagine ProVape coming out with another new box mod this soon but hey.....anything's possible.

... the leather holder for the Procyon (pictured in one of my posts above) ... IS.TIGHT. (and I think that's a good thing)

Is there a trick to it? ... I read a post somewhere that explained using the thinnest slightest tiniest bit of WD40 coating on the Procyon to encourage it. What say ye? I don't have a warm fuzzy about WD40 on leather ... but hey ...

Most leather sleeves loosen up over time. You just gotta force that baby in there. :sneaky:

Still on first tank in the Kabuki. Resistance has changed from the initial 1.8 ohm Procyon reading. It's now 1.9 ohms. That is perfectly in line with my previous experience with Nautilus coils. The only surprise was that it initially read 1.8
I thought resistance going up or down was typical for all coils no matter the tank or rda. Am I incorrectly thinking?

I never paid it a lot of attention ScandaLeX. Either my favorite mods don't have read outs ... Eleaf Basic, (Nautilus Mini) on an Innokin T18 battery ... or most of my experience with Nautilus coils on box mods includes a Pegasus and Eleaf 60W.

The thing is that my box mods always showed the Nautilus coils starting out about 2.0 ohms and settling down to about 1.9 ohms. That's why I was surprised when the Procyon initially read the resistance @ 1.8.

I've also seen what may be two versions of the current 1.8 BVC Aspire Nautilus coils ... one stamped 1.8 (4.2-5.0V) and one stamped 1.8 (3.3-6.0V) ... still working on trying to find the real difference between the two.

Whatever the resistance ... I respect and appreciate how the Procyon firmware handles it :)

Does a .1 change in ohms affect the flavor?!!!!!!!
Excellent question and I think that depends, but in the case of the Procyon, the answer is generally a consistent NO.

Page 5 of Procyon users manual under Provari Procyon Feature Details, "... As your atomizer resistance changes, the Procyon constantly monitors the resistance and adjusts the wattage to keep it where you set it. Regardless, if you install a low or high resistance atomizer on the Procyon, it will automatically adjust the power to keep it at your preferred wattage setting."

So extrapolating, apparently flavor would be the same regardless of coil resistance change throughout its life cycle. Theoretically anyway I suppose LOL

I'm kidding!!!!!!!!!!

No. And to Scandal's question, it's quite normal for coils resistance to change as it is used. Perhaps it's as gunk collects on the coil, but they all change with use.

The only difference is the actual voltage it will fire at. With a regulated mod, you will likely not even notice the slight difference.

... and so does the flavor ;)

Well yes. But when you put a new coil in a Kabuki and it reads 1.8, but then changes fairly quickly to 1.9, I'd defy anyone to notice a flavor change. When the coil get's too gunky, the flavor will go off and that's when I replace the coil for a new one. In my Buki's a coil is typically lasting a couple weeks before I feel the flavor has degraded.

I don't think they would ... I wouldn't, but that wasn't my point in my post discussing the noted change now was it. ;) ... Again, I'm not a flavor chaser either so it wouldn't matter if it did anyway LOL

EDIT: I think I've mentioned a couple of times ... recap ... surprised the Procyon read 1.8 when other mods read 2.0 but apparently they all settle in about 1.9 for the Nautilus coil. <<< I said nothing about flavor in this case as regards resistance change. But lets talk about flavor ...

I'm kidding!!!!!!!!!!

I guess the "I'm kidding" part (in white) didn't show up very well. I know I can't taste .1Ω difference, my hand-made coils always fluctuate.

I had to go back and look REALLY carefully. It really is there!!!! Was that a test to see if our elder eyes can see phantom letters? LOL

Don't you vape clear juice? I have clear in the Kabuki and when a coil is old the juice gets dark.

The current ohm reading in 1.7. I don't remember if I put a 1.6 or 1.8 in it.

Acutally, I've gotten adventurous in my old age. I have some darker juices I'm into these days, like Caramel Apple Tobacco and Mocha Java. Amazing, right??!!

And I'd be willing to bet you put a 1.6 in your Kabuki. I pretty much only use 1.6 ohm coils and they all read 1.7.
