I wonder what ProVape's next mod/product will be? Yeah, about 2 years early to be guessing, but why not have some fun now. There was a major trend away from tube mods to box mods, and ProVape eventually followed suit with the Radius. They even doubled the wattage on the P3 to 40W on the Radius. Don't put anything past them... ;)

Following the trend of multiple batteries, one feature might be a dual 18650 edition of the Radius - maybe the Radius^2 (squared), with balance charger. There looks to be plenty of free space inside the Radius, so maybe it only adds 50% of the size of an additional 18650. Or maybe they configure it in a triangle and give it a fancy triangle-related name (sorry, Reuleaux is already taken by Wismec).

I don't see ProVape playing "wattage wars". When the P3 came out, the primary complaint was it wasn't at lest 30-35W - now the Radius is 40W and that pretty much covers everyone but cloud chasers.

If ProVape were REALLY innovative, they'd be working on a completely new atomization method - no more heating wires to produce vapor. The incandescent light bulb is going away - it's time for heated coils to do the same. ProVape haven't created ANY atomizers at this point, but maybe a collaboration with ~Zen will change the entire industry.

There's always temperature control/limiting, but ProVape have stated that until they perfect it, they won't offer it in their product. Since TC/TL is flawed by nature, it will never be in a ProVape product. Just one simple example of this would be for anyone who has built their own coils and dry-fired them before wicking. Notice how the coil glows from the inside out? If the inside is hotter than the outside, how can you accurately report the temperature of that wire, when it's a different temperature at every mm? Current mods are just taking the average from measuring resistance change. Not "perfection", but will keep you from getting a dry hit. I won't even get into the (in)accuracies of measuring resistances down to .0001 needed at these levels either, or the effects of ambient temperature, etc.

My hope is for an atomizer that doesn't use a coil, that doesn't require changing that heats the material that also never needs to be replaced that feeds the juice to be heated to the perfect temperature to create the perfect vape. This train of thought reminds me of the PBusardo April Fools review of just such an atomizer (which of course we learned was a joke), but I would have ordered one that day if it was available. And if Provape brought it to us, well, that would just be icing on the convenience cake. Yes it would.

Innokins answer to tc doesnt measure resistance in the coil, it uses a separate sensor....and a proprietary connector......provape could come up with their own solution utilizing the p3 connector......something they could work on with Zen.....a kabuki that has an internal temp sensor...it could be one of only two mods that actually regulate temperature and not a guesstimate of temperature ;)

Some dude saying that temp sensors work off resistors, so in the case of an atomizer, the coil becomes the resistor, and therefore TC/TL is always accurate...
Then again, you'd probably just end up wasting your breath.
If he really thinks he's right, there's no changing his mind.

Well, he's kinda right... You can think of these coils as resistors in a circuit, just as you can think of your stereo speakers as resistors in a circuit. Wire has resistance, as we all know. Heat the wire, and the resistance changes. Ni200 was originally chosen because it has the largest change in resistance when heated, thus easiest to calculate. The problem is, like I mentioned above, the wire is not the same temperature at every mm, therefore temperature is an average of the total resistance of the wire. All wires heat from the middle outward. Ever drop a thin piece of wire on a 9V battery when you were a kid (or was that just me? :p) The middle glowed, melted, and broke.

The reason nobody has done it yet is because the change in resistance when heated is very minimal. It's hard enough to read resistances to the thousandth of an ohm accurately, let alone narrow your margin/scale, and get an accurate result. The further you go away from Ni200, the more inaccurate it becomes. Many TC/TL mods are now incorporating manual TCR modes for different wires, but that doesn't solve the accuracy problem.

Added to the fact that a separate sensor is not likely to be any more accurate than using the coil resistance.
Added to the fact that as a toodle puffer temperature limiting is irrelevant. Been there done that and I learned that my builds and watts were already temperature limited right where I wanted them.

Depending on implementation, the secind sensor solution coukd indeed be much more accurate then the current methid of reading wire resistance.....it will be actually reading temps. The quality of the sensor used, and placement in relatioln to the coil will be crucial however. And yes, it requires a proprietary tank to work ;)

OK and how will it be reading actual temperatures. The short answer is it won't, it will react to (measure) changes within the sensor brought about by temperature.

And the temperature it will "read" is what. The average temp of the coil, average temp of the vapor, some combination of both.

As an investor I'll pass on this one. :D
