After seeing all the praise the VOLT is getting, I am curious: How does the VOLT compare to a 510 carto system, such as the Yeti C? I have been pretty happy with the Yeti, but is there something I am missing out on with this? Would it be worthwhile to "upgrade" to the VOLT, or are they pretty comparable?

I can only give my opinion. I used to be a "dedicated" 510/eGo user. After I tried the VOLT and their cartos, I ordered more cartos and adapters to use them on my eGos. I've never used the Yeti C, only genuine Joye cartos and Boge cartos.

If you are happy with what you have, why switch? If you're not, if you're using atomizers with carts (I do not like using atties with little messy liquid-filled carts on them), or any sort of fiber-filled burny-type of cartomizers, the Volt would be an improvement on your current system. I do not know if there are any 510 cartomizers made the way the Volt's are with the covered non-burning horizontal internal coil. The Volt has 808 threads on the connector, not 510 threads. You could always get a 510 battery to 808 atty adaptor (from madvapes, goodprophets, or etc) and then go to smokelessimage and buy a pack of Volt cartomizers and see what you think of them using your Yeti battery, might not be the exact same experience but close enough to help you decide.

I've never used a Yeti, my history is with the Ego and similar, the Helix, the Go-Go, the Jessy, plus several box mods that I made. So since I don't know how many mAh your Yeti battery is, I can't help you correlate that. All that I can tell you is that I've shelved all my other devices for this one. The battery and cartomizer give me a vape I like in this little cigarette-size that I always wished a company would figure out how to get to work right.

Cheers!

I also have eGo batteries and use them a lot as well. They Yetis (which I believe are just a rebranded Joye 510. Side by side they appear identical) come in handy for me when I am going out and just want something more lightweight to take with me.

How do the batteries compare with the VOLT cartos? Do the eGo batteries give the same or similar experience to using the cartos on the VOLT battery?

I might just save myself some money and get some 510-KR808D adapters and cartos instead of another complete system, since I already have a lot of 510 type equipment.

Thanks for the info, chimney55!

Thanks for the advice, Steeljan!

I currently have horizontal coil cartos for my eGo batteries (echo-e) and I really do like their performance. I use these and the tank system on them, depending on the situation and the juice I am vaping.

I only have "standard" cartos for my 510s though. The adapters might just be worth it if I can get similar performance to the echo-e but in a smaller size.

This I can help with! I used to use the Yeti-C and I did like it, but I hated the battery life - lucky to get 45 minutes of vape time out of it. My next step was the Ego batteries which I did for probably 4 or 5 months. Loved the battery life, just really didn't like the size of it all. I really like the smaller battery style personally.

Now I can say the Volt Cartos are much better (again my personal opinion) than the standard 510 cartos (or LR cartos) used along with it. I keep a couple Ego batteries with a 510 to 808-D1 adapter only as a backup for battery life. Just in case I lose power for a couple days, I'll be set! That is really the only way I'll use them again.

A great way to try this is exactly what you said, get an adapter and try a pack or cartos. I think you'll be convinced. The battery life on these new style 808-D1's are phenominal. Everyone gets a different experience, but I get 3-4 hours off the 65mm battery. I carry a mini-PCC and it charges in my pocket when not in use. Together lasts me the entire day!

I'm 100% sold in this setup! Thanks SI!!

Edit: Almost forgot - as long as you have a real Joye Ego battery you'll get the same out of the carto (runs 3.6-3.7 volt) if you have something like a Riva, you won't - it runs closer to 4.3 volt and the experience is definitely different. You want the lower voltage for the perfect experience.

Well, I don't know yet, but I should know more tomorrow. I have some adapters coming in to test out the BMF cartos on 510 autos in 180/280mah, manuals in 180mah, eGo at 650mah and 1000 mah, and a PS Icon 1.1 at 900mah. Since the Volt and BMF cartos are the same the results should be applicable either way.

(For the record and to give me some street cred, I do have an order in for some Volt Watermelon and blank cartos. ;) )

My suspicion based on some feedback from others here at ECF and having some idea of what's in the various batts I have -- all seem to be unregulated with a bit lower nominal output than BMF/Volt batteries -- is that the BMF/Volt cartos will vape a little cooler and performance will likely degrade a bit more toward the end of battery life. I also suspect that they will probably be better on the eGo batts (more capacity/output/life), good but with short life on the 510 manuals and probably just OK on the 510 autos.

Now I just have to figure out (and be dedicated about collecting) the metrics that will make this worth reporting on. Dangit, I've been resisting, but really getting the bug to do some videos. .... :)

See my previous post, I must have been typing at the same time as you. Try the adapter on a Joye Ego, no more than 3.7volt and that will be the same vape as you get off the Volt batteries. Absolutely awesome!

That's because great minds think alike. ...

... Just not always at the same time. :)

Thanks for the tip, will do!

In my Volt review video, I show vaping on short Ego batts, the long Ego batts of 1000mAh or so, my 18650 mod, and my vv mod.

The closest I found the Volt cartos vaped and tasted the same as on a Volt battery were:

Momma bear - the long Ego batt, not quite up to the same with this.

Poppa bear - my 18650 mod, hits a wee bit harder than the Volt batteries

Baby bear - my vv mod dialed into exactly 3.75V, this is exactly the same vapor and taste as on the Volt batteries.

I'm anxious to see how your tests turn out Vapian. Love testing!!

Thank you everyone for all the great info! I think I will go ahead and try the cartos with an adapter on my eGo (I have a 1000mah one as well) and when the larger Volt batteries come in I will likely pick up a couple and a charger. If those batteries perform that well it will be worth it, as I run down my 510s in about an hour usually (my biggest aggravation with them).

I do like to tinker with this stuff, but there are times I want to just be able to grab something and go. It looks like the VOLT could be a great fit for the latter.

Thanks again!! :D

All of my eGo batteries are genuine branded ones, so I should be good to go. That's good info though, I wasn't aware that the Riva had a higher voltage.

I was all hating on customs in solidarity and then I remembered that I really do want them to check the containers and let all the 14 year old girls out before they start unpacking the Volts......
