Another tip to go along with all the charging tips.....:DYou can NEVER have too many batts:D I tend to order at least one batt a pay (when I order any of the other fun stuff)....soooo....I cannot wait for the new cartos and juice so I can start adding these to my collection:) I don't think I have ever been without a charged battery....and don't ever wanna be.

And the pt's.....OMG you will LUV it!!! I don't think I could live without one. Consistency at it's finest and you never have to worry about recharge:laugh: But even there, I would suggest eventually getting a backup....they don't last forever either:(

Hopefully I will see this through to the point I need backup devices, but for the moment I will hold off. I have almost completed the initial hardware search phase (as soon as those crates are opened), next I expect to start the "search for the perfect juice" phase, and THEN I will hit the backups and alternate devices phase. (I'm learning from the pros at ECF ).

You know, I took up throwing darts at my local pub about 3 years ago, and this seems like this may be a similar experience. I went through the initial "analysis paralysis" phase on hardware (dart weight, thick or thin barrel, barrel finish, fixed points vs. movable points, aluminum vs. plastic shafts, plastic, nylon or spinning flights, case type, etc.), only to realize later that stance, consistent arm motion and frequent practice made a lot bigger difference in my success than what hardware I started with. I'm expecting a similar learning curve with this, except I won't have to better someone else to be the winner!

Ah...fellow dart player:D I went through my share of dart sets too.....I still will alternate them depending hon how they feel during warmup:)

I'm anxious to see how your tests turn out Vapian. Love testing!!

Well, I haven't found a good way to post my results the way I'd like to, but here's a summary.

Batteries tested @mAh: eGo @650 & 1000; 14500 @900 (Icon 1.1), 510 auto & manual @180, 510 auto @280, Bloog @320.

Volts off the charger, high-to-low @VDC:

  • 14500 @4.23
  • eGo-T 650 @4.17
  • 510 auto 180 @3.95
  • 510 manual 180 @3.95
  • 510 auto 280 @3.79
  • Bloog 320 @3.70
  • eGo-T 1000 @3.40 (this was a surprise)

I tested each and evaluated on Vapor, Hit, Warmth and Taste. I wasn't quite sure the best way to go about it and it's obviously subjective no matter what, but I cycled through the same carto on each, rated the best in each category as a "10" and downgraded the others from there. Then I averaged the scores for the carto on each battery for the results below. Keep in mind, the scores are relative to the same carto across just these batteries, and does NOT put that carto up against a 510 carto, which would be a completely different contest.

  • 9.50: PS Icon 1.1 (14500)
  • 9.25: eGo-T 650
  • 9.00: eGo-T 1000
  • 9.00: Bloog 320
  • 8.50: 510 Manual 180
  • 7.50: 510 Auto 280
  • 7.25: 510 Auto 180

Some Notes:

  • The battery with the highest voltage provided best Vapor, Hit and Warmth but scored surprisingly low on Taste (on par with the 510's). Yet, the eGo-T 650 actually scored best on Taste despite a relatively small difference in initial voltage.
  • On the batteries with voltages of greater than 4 VDC, performance was great IF the cart was freshly filled or topped off. Taste was wonderful to start but became incrementally, progressively "harsher" as the carto was used. I got the impression it would be much easier to burn the fill material with these batteries.
  • Batteries with near- or optimal voltage provided more consistent performance for a longer period of vaping within the life of the battery. I was very impressed with the consistency of the eGo-T 1000.
  • I was rather surprised at how low the carto on the 510 batteries scored. I just don't think these batts can keep up under load, probably resulting in a bigger voltage drop than "off the charger" numbers imply. I also realized how my scale worked: it's relative only to the same carto on different batteries, so it's really valid only for this testing.
  • It's worth noting that the Bloog/Volt carto would score high as compared to any of the 510 cartos that I have used. The biggest difference appears to be that the Vapor, while good, is "drier" and cooler than what you get at consistently nominal voltages. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried -- it just won't be the optimal experience the carto can provide.

Maybe for some this will help determine whether it's worth ordering the 510 > 808 adapters and using their existing batteries. If they kick out consistent 3.4-3.7V, they should be good to go.

As for me, I'll be carefully considering which ones to keep but at the least I suspect the 510's will be PIF'd or made into quasi-disposables with decent cartos to let others try.

So what I gather is you don't want to wear a flannel shirt with your tuxedo pants. :D

Thanks for all the work that must have went into that analysis Vapian.....good work

just thought I would post this...in case anyone is interested...this was our tracking...so you can see we were trying to be as upfront as possible :)

Edit* keep in mind there is traveling time from the factory to hong Kong as well :)

edit #2 I removed the link due to not wanting too much private info on the web :) but some of you have seen it and confirm we were being very upfront :)

Did you find out what caused the delay? Can it be avoided in the future, or is this just "the cost of doing business"? ("Perspiring minds want to know...)
