Hi and Welcome :) Are you holding the button down for a full 4 seconds? Once you do that the sslider lights will go on and then turn off after about 15 seconds... but the VOLT battery LED should remain lit while charging.

I think what is happening is you are not holding the button down long enough and only getting like 15 seconds of charge per instance therefor taking 14 hours...when it should only take 2 hours for the 65mm and 3 for the 78mm

Nope, pretty sure (actually positive) I'm holding the button down long enough. When you first hold down, the case battery charge level shows. Keep holding a little longer and the battery charge level shows. Keep holding longer-yes, about 4-5 seconds-and the battery indicator bars start pulsing as the charge cycle starts. Then I let go. I know the case lights go out shortly, I'm referring to the battery LED going out, which is supposed to indicate the battery is fully charged. I hit the button yet again on my PCC about 30 min ago and the LED is lit on the batt and not the PCC, so I know it's currently charging and has been for 30 min, not 15 sec. The thing is, the case *was* charging OK for about 2-3 weeks, but has gotten steadily worse. That why i was wondering how long the removeable battery inside the case should be good for? The case itself still indicates a full charge, and charges fully in a couple of hours.

I'm really not trying to be difficult  it's just the weakest link in the pursuit of vaping perfection is always the power supply (well, and burnt cartos). I'm soooo close and getting frustrated. Not that I'd ever give up my Volt :vapor:

Oh, and by way of being distracted by replying to this: mint and cappuccino not a good accidental top off combo in my book :?:

Hey there,

I have actually had a slightly similar issue with one of my two Manual batteries on both my USB and PCC chargers, and eventually realized that my poor filling skills had resulted in a gunk build up in the Batteries Connector slot. This buildup even transferred two one of my two USB chargers. A Paper-towel and Toothpick cleanup of both the Battery Connector and USB charger fixed the issue I was having.

Now not sure if that is your issue at all; but if you are filling your own cartos, it might be a possibility at least.

Hmmm...how about the good old neon orthodontic elastic trick?

You can even stack colors with those and make your cartos really stripe-y!

I have a label maker and just give each flavor a 2-3 letter abbreviation and mark my cartos with the labels. It really helps me track.

both are actually good ideas too!

The rubber bands are probably even small enough to go between the small gap in condom/caps I imagine, which would work well in the PCCs.

I just got my Columbus Day order in. The green battery rocks! It will be perfect at Christmas time. I got it in the new sealed auto and I don't detect any difference in the draw from my other batteries. The only battery from SI that gives me trouble is my chrome one. The draw on it is much harder than my other batteries. It doesn't matter what carto I put on it, it still draws hard, so I tend not to use it too much. Maybe I just need to clean it with a toothpick?

Thanks for the reply Darkstar. I do refill, but I'm quite careful about drips and leaks. My first thought when it started to charge slowly was to check the contacts. Everything looked pretty good but I pulled out the Q-tips, toothpicks, pins & vodka anyway, so the batts are pretty shiny. Plus, they charge fine in my sister's USB charger. Using it now aamaf.

I guess I'll see how the brand new sealed batts charge and how my old batts charge in the mega PCC.

Okay - As requested I have put together simple pictoral instructions on how to remove the filler from a Volt cartomizer. This is really handy if you have a sealed or manual battery and you want to test juices without filling an entire carto.

This is a Volt carto that needed to be cleaned without the end cap. Now I won't have to clean it! :) That little glob in the core is just a piece of filler.

Use a pointy object to locate the end of the filler material which wraps around the central core (like toilet paper). Pull the end up gently.

This just shows a little better that I have located the end.

I put my fingertip over the center part and gently pull the filler up as it unwinds. It may not be necessary, but I don't want to pull up the center.

Remove the filler.

Remove the material which hugs the central core.

All done! You can clean it if you like, or rinse it, or just blow it out.

I removed the black outside sticker to expose the stainless tube and removed any remaining adhesive with Goo Gone. Then I gave it a light rubbing with fine sand paper and added a Tester label just for fun.

and you are sure the PCC is charged? does this slow charging happen when the pcc is plugged in?

If someone with one of these labelmakers could give me some feedback I'd appreciate it. I went to WallyWorld yesterday and they had two kinds. One was about $18 and the other was $30 something, both taking the same tape. I was wondering if the typeface is all black or are colors possible if I get the clear tape so I can label my cartos. In other words, can I use the clear on cartos and be able to see it. Also is the bigger one worth the price difference and why? I kind of like the less expensive one for size as well as price but don't want to make a big concession in features over a few bucks.

I use the larger ptouch / white tape with black lettering but the reason is because we use it at work to mark items on a daily basis. I would think the smaller version should be fine if you are just using it to mark cartos. The larger one I have can use a variety of tape sizes and font sizes for the business purposes.

most cartos with 808d-1 threads will look the same and be compatible. We have certain specifications that make ours unique though :)
I just won some cartomizers from VaporNine and they look the same (except for the packaging) as the ones I get from SI. Are they? They work with my Volt batteries and Boge cartos won't.
