@ Wuzzntme - Well, I can't do a comparison because I've only used the Brother P-Touch PT-2430 PC Labelmaker. So - I can't really tell ya what it can do that the others can't.
Amazon.com: Brother PC-Connectable Label Maker with Auto Cutter (PT-2430PC): Office Products
I can tell you what it does do though. You have a wide choice of tape widths from (I think) 3/8" up to 1" in a variety of colors - all laminated which seems pretty much impervious to nicquid. It can print multiple lines of text and graphics which can be just about anything. I found a pic of a roll of wintergreen Lifesavers on the net, and plunked it onto my Wintergreen label (the software auto-sized it to the height of the tape), and then I saved and stored it for future use. I have a whole library of labels now - each one with a picture so I can recognize it at a glance. Also included in the software is are a gazillion different symbols and icons. There are multiple fonts available. You can use AC power instead of relying on a battery powered unit. Ummm - can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but I love mine.
