LOL I always did tend to be too conservative in my estimations of time.

added: Uncle, somehow I messed up your post and don't know how to fix it.

You must have engineer blood somewhere in your genes. When I was a systems engineer, it was a running joke that when asked for an ETC (Estimated Time of Completion) the standard reply was "two weeks".

Thats not unlike the auto industry..when a customer asks how long is the wait its 1 hour ..regardless if it will be 30 mins or 5 days :D

LOL! Probably copped from the movie "The Money Pit" (Tom Hanks) where the hoard of contractors (that were remodeling the house) standard ETC reply was "2 weeks" (6 months later........).

I found a Belkin 2 Amp single USB wall adapter at Wallyworld that fires the passthrough just fine. Only problem(?) is my passthrough registers 4.4 volts, doesn't seem to be regulated. I measured it using the amazing SteelJan's method with a drinking straw and a multimeter. It seems to operate the same off of a standard iPhone wall charger too.

A good general rule: However long you think it will take, multiply by two and translate to the next largest unit of measure.

Using this rule, an estimated one day of work becomes two weeks.

In complex projects it almost never fails that the rule is more accurate than the initial estimate.

;)

hmm the meter may be off or there is a difference with the load when the carto is on it... at 4.4 the cartos would taste burnt....

Love the XL PCC that came in my order! It's being charged as I type. How many times will it charge the batteries? Is it true they've been discontinued? Seems a shame to discontinue them. The connection is nice and tight, there's room for cartos, and it's nice enough looking. Now I don't know which one to give to my brother... maybe I'll pick up another charger in another sale. :)

Thx for the reply, Imagine :)

The carto does taste way different than when on the batteries. The meter isn't off, but just for fun I will retest it with my Fluke at work tomorrow. The batteries measure 3.6v give or take a tiny variance. The passthrough is consistently 4.4v. Cartos burn much hotter, and definitely don't taste as good, but not necessarily yucky/burnt.

Since, it seems there are a number of people who liked the photos I posted of "The Mill" . . . instead of taking up the thread with more, I uploaded a number of them to Photobucket so you could get a full breath of the place, the property and other buildings, the work rooms/studios/living spaces, "My" Friend - the Artist - Tom Galbriath's Work, and others . . . My apologies that they are not in order - but I am sure you will get a "feel" for the whole place and how really amazing it is (BTW: I live here for a few months in between places and it ia also where I stay everytime I go North - My room is the "Gallery Room" ;) )

However, I can only leave them up for a limited time and you will need to use "millstudios" to get access . . . Here is the link:

Hope you enjoy viewing the photos ! ! !

Wow! I loved looking at all the images. What a fascinating place. I could spend hours -- no, days -- in there just looking at everything. Thanks for putting up all those photos.
