Months ago I was given Fluocinonide for that single patch I had, but it did nothing. Today I was given Taclonex - along with a $0 copay card, so it will be free for 6 refills - cool huh? I'll let you know after using it a week if it seems to be doing any good.

Has been too chilly out to go out bare arms & legs. I wonder if I sit in front of the window with sun coming in if that would count. While vaping my Volt of course. (gotta keep this somewhat related to the forum :))

Like I said, I have tried probably all of the ointments and just the thought of greasy oily ointments is enough to make me seriously cringe. BUT my dermatologist had given me a sample of Clomax spray. It sprays on and is soft and silky and NOT greasy!!! It sure helps during flareups. May not make the patches go away any faster, but they don't itch, burn and crack when I use it. When I went back I asked for a prescription of it. I got 6 months of it for free, but my co-pay with my insurance actually only costs me $5 after the in store discount program too. So I don't complain. i wish I could use it alone, but I need the Humira.... which is VERY expensive. I only pay $5 a month for 2 shots. (1 shot every other week) and my insurance pays $4200. Yes...... four thousand two hundred. LOL The insurance questions it every month and my dr has to send in justification. I don't have to mess with all that though. My insurance and dr hassle that out. I just get my meds and copies of the letters and requests. LOL

and to answer your question..... sitting by the window don't help. LOL Your skin has to actually absorb the UV rays to be effective.

I took a photo just now. It's blurry, but you're interested in the color, not the details. Actually, it's got a little more red, but it almost matches the purple in your Volt sig. It has a shiny finish, sort of glows, like my dark blue battery has. I'll post a shot if I can get it to work. Last time I tried, the pic came out really small. Wish me luck.

Okay, thanks. that would be great.

Actually, its all related. You saved me the money of having to go back to the dr to check my flare up. lol I feel confident that its not due to my vaping. :D

My point exactly. I agree. If cigs are available..... they will be the only thing that will satisfy. If they aren't there, you can't smoke them. Mind over matter.

This has been a very interesting discussion. I think that if analogs are available I will smoke them. Before I started vaping, I had quit smoking for the better part of a year, so I know I can do without them if I put my mind to it. My big problem then was that I simply missed smoking too much. Since I started vaping, my analog consumption has gone way down, but I still have a few in the house, and every couple days I will have one. I know that in order to stop using them entirely, I'm going to have to allow myself to run out, and not buy any more.

The biggest problem I have been having is that using the same flavor liquid most of the time, it gets to be tasteless after a while, and I feel like smoking just to get that mouth watering taste (yes, I still actually like the taste of burning tobacco). I feel like if I can find a few flavors that I really like, it will go a long way toward keeping me happy without the analogs. So, I've got a bunch of flavors coming to try out, and I'm really excited to see how I like them. :) Snail mail is soooo slow!

Smoker loses teeth after electronic cigarette blows up in his mouth | Metro.co.uk

The unidentified man, who was attempting to kick his cigarette habit, also suffered burns to his face after the cigarette’s battery blew up in Pensacola, Florida.

Firefighters said the electric cigarette – designed to help people quit smoking – was like a rocket going off in the man’s mouth.

'The best analogy is like it was trying to hold a bottle rocket in your mouth when it went off,' said Joseph Parker, division chief for the North Bay Fire Department.

'The battery flew out of the tube and set the closet on fire.'

Officials also reported damage to the unidentified man's apartment including charred carpets and burnt out office equipment.

Thomas Kiklas, co-founder of the Tobacco Vapor Electronic Cigarette Association, has insisted that the incident is an isolated one.

'There have been billions and billions of puffs on the cigarettes and we have not heard of this happening before,' he said.

The patient is currently being treated in hospital.

Drug companies are nuts. And I'm sure the doctor had padded his cost to make a few bucks too. No wonder insurance is so expensive these days. I'm coming off of Kaiser where I used to only pay $5-10 for any prescription, then it was variable but still a fraction of what I would have paid normally. But this year is new insurance and if it isn't on their approved list then I pay full price. So another antibiotic I just got cost me $50. Geez! I know that isn't an enormous amount, but it's still 10 times what Kaiser would have cost me. I might have to skip the Humira :(

Now to find that stray bottle. It'll turn up when I stop looking for it, I know. I just can't imagine where it got to! I've looked everywhere it could have fallen and rolled to -- but obviously not, or I'd have found it, wouldn't I?

Welcome to my world.

I absolutely HATE reading a report such as this ...

Electric cigarette explodes in Pensacola man's mouth | TBO.com

The wonderful world of modding to chase the perfect vape. The perfect juice dripped on a brand new atty with freshly charged batteries. Ahhh, nothing like it. This guy was an experienced vaper and nobody knows if it was a homeade pv or a manufactured one but from the findings of batteries and chargers it's pretty obvious it wasn't a standard e-cig. There are a couple of reports on this forum about Ego batteries going off while charging as well but I haven't heard any of them exploding during use and mods should be designed to vent out the bottom, not the top as this one did. I'm really sorry to hear about that happening to anybody and thank God he's still alive. This is exactly why I cringe every time somebody recommends an changeable battery device in the newcommers forum. Some people are tech savy enough to charge and use them safely but even more are not. They are definitly not for everyone.

Thanks for the clarification. So I guess we are safe with our Volts? It seems like it's the mods that are dangerous.

Nothing is 100% safe. Not your car, your heater, your stove and most things you use without even thinking about it during the day. But your chances of something like that happening with a volt, or any cig size 808, are about equal to getting hit by a meteor while taking a bath. If a KR808 battery did decide to vent, and I've never heard of one doing it, the chances of it blowing the carto off in your face or mouth would be extremley unlikely. It would more than likely blow your bling bottom cap across the room and you'd have a roman candle in your hand for a few seconds blowing fire out the bottom. By then it would be too hot to hold and you'd probably throw it somewhere. The size alone dictates the force. Volt batteries are 320mah while most mod batteries are 1,000 to 3,000+. Think of that as fuel. It's like the differece in a firecracker and a stick of dynamite. The more powerful higher capacity batteries are attractive to modders to get hotter and more vapor as well as capacities that last a long time without recharging. As for myself I'm well adjusted to making sure I've got charged batteries and am very happy with the quality and amount of vapor I get from a kr808 and I'm not trying to fog for mosquitos. I do still have and occasionally use other devices I had before I found Volt but nothing like you'll find in the modders forum.

HEY YOU - SHHHHH - leave the price alone. . . ;)

"Imagine" knows what she is doing - $1.99 is a GREAT DEAL :D

PLEASE - Don't give anyone any reasons to raise the price

Okay that's it - GOOD NITE ! ! !

I've been using these mouthpieces, which I've had to buy from another vendor and at the same price, for a long time. I'm just glad to see SI stock them so I don't have to pay exhorbitant shipping and can order them with my other supplies. I ordered several packs during this sale. Not only for myself but at that price I can offer anyone who has never tried a Volt a chance. SI was giving us a type of sanitary tip if we ask but these are much better.

I am trying that, myself, now. I have six batteries and I placed different flavors on each one! I'll take a hit off a different battery if I feel like I've vaped enough of one flavor! It's working out good for me, so far! :)

This is exactly what I do - only with ten flavors. I never get flavor burnout anymore. It also saves wear and tear on cartos because you are less likely to get them overheated. :)

I just naturally did this, but now I have a real, specific reason, since I got a horrible case of flavor burnout yesterday. I still have that tobacco smell surrounding me, as if it seeped into my pores somehow. I won't do that again!

Which brings me to the next idea. I'm going to see if I can get flavorless WTA and add it to flavors I know I like and see if that works. Getting a flavor I would never have ordered just to get the WTA certainly didn't work well. If I got a small bottle of flavorless WTA -- and it's out there -- I could add it to several flavors and not get flavor burnout, yet still try it on a fairly constant basis and see if it works better for me.

It would be nice if they had a higher strength of unflavored so that you could add your own flavoring without weakening the WTA strength beyond what will be useful. I really, really hopes that it works out for you. *fingers and toes crossed*

Just an idea: What if you were to vape as you normally would, but when you feel the intense need to have an analog, instead vape the WTA unflavored for the length of time that it would take you to smoke an analog. I'm just talkin' out of my belly button here. Feel free to ignore. :p

That's a really good idea. I think I need to give that carto a rest for a few days, though, so it'll taste acceptable next time I vape it. Meanwhile, I'm looking into getting some unflavored WTA. What would happen if I just vaped it unflavored? Has anyone tried that with normal nic juice? Does it taste bad or just like nothing?

I've vaped plain PG and it would probably be a similar experience. It just tasted a little sweet and it's rather pleasant. Sometimes I'll do this on my testing carto (which no longer has any filler) to work out the old flavoring that I tested. When it just vapes the PG taste, I know that I'm ready to test another flavor.

Just a thought, (I'm treating thoughts kindly as they're strangers and a long way from home) but have you tried juices made from tobacco extracts? I don't know how much of the WTA stuff goes into the extract or the tobacco absolute but I've vaped a few that were pretty darn good and seem to satisfy a lot of people who are having difficulties and some are pretty tasty.

I've never tried them, though they were mentioned in passing in my WTA research. Apparently not much of the WTA gets into them. It sounded like WTA juice would be more effective. I may look into them at some future point. Do you have any you'd recommend? Do they only have tobacco flavors, or is there a complete range of flavors as is the case with regular nic juice?

SandySu, I'll just add my 2¢ on the differences in how we make the switch to vaping. I discovered that giving up cigarettes completely all at once is a mental thing with me. There may be some other reasons, but this is the one I know and am dealing with.

My first attempt at switching was two years ago and wasn't successful. I was using a 510 mini, not very good juices and I didn't smoke at all for over two months. Then I drifted back to smoking, even though I continued to vape. The beginning of May I decided to give it another try and was very motivated about it. I upgraded my 510 to the 510-T and then got the eGo-T. That helped me be satisfied with 3 cigs a day. After I found and started using Volts I easily got down to 2 and then 1 cig a day. Lately I find there are some days I actually forget to smoke the one. I am not going to deliberately stop allowing myself one a day, and have hopes that I'll eventually just skip more and more days.

I made my own cigs for some years and don't know if having packs around would work the same for me. I have to get out my supplies and make the cig before I smoke it. The reason I say it's mental is because I have no physical cravings to smoke. I think it's the ritual thing. I'm afraid if I didn't let myself have that one each day I would begin craving them. The way I see it is that if I continue to smoke one a day for the rest of my life I'm still way ahead of the game.

I'm almost nine months into it this time. Vaping is very satisfactory and enjoyable to me and I continue to have no cigarette cravings. I know what I'm doing is a little weird and wouldn't work for everyone, but so far it's working for me. I just wanted to share this with you so you know that some of us don't just quit cigs cold and that there are many ways to fight this battle.

The problem with fighting the mental issues is that it's hard to out-fox yourself, because 'yourself' always knows what you're doing. :)
