I am distraught! At work we just got all the information regarding the 2012 Health insurance. In prior years you had to say you don't smoke or they would add $50 a month to the premiums. Of course I lied. This year I was happy to finally truthfully say I do not smoke.
But now for next year it will be $70 and they are going to do random testing of people that claim the no-smoking discount. It specifically says you "do not use tobacco" then lists "cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chew & e-cigarettes". What?!?! Noooo!!! 8-o

So I write my HR Mgr. (who sells a lesser brand on the side) asking if she couldn't do something about this - Are they just misinformed? Do they need accurate info? Then went down to talk to her in person. She is well aware that these are not the same as those tobacco products, and if it is nicotine they are worried about, she knows that's found even in innocent things, like a potato. What if I was using Nicorette? That would show nic in my system, but gum/patches are allowed. So this is frustrating.
She forwarded my email to her boss and said they've heard from several people upset about it like me. She said the Corporate mucky mucks were going to review this new policy, and maybe they'll modify it. But nothing is certain yet. Corporate is a very uptight bunch of folks so I don't have high hopes that they'll make the right decision, but keep your fingers crossed for me :nun:

One thing I find so irritating about this is that they don't say you can't get drunk at home, yet excessive alcohol use causes health problems. They don't say you can't each a whole cheesecake every night, yet obesity causes health problems. But noooo, let's ban the one and only thing that got me off cigarettes. grumble grumble

You are absolutely right - sometimes corporate makes decisions with the wrong end of their anatomy.

What if you were using 0-nic?

Might be a perfect reason to order a bottle and try it out. Then you could claim you dont use any nicotine products truthfully (kind of) and if they called you on it you could point out a 0-nic bottle and say you were at the end of a slow wean off the hard-juice and have switched to a nic-less life at that point.

You know, there is another option too though... Dont pick it up, and instead go with Obamacare like the Government ultimately wants everyone to do anyway. Just remember though

I so just stole that... :D

Well, it looks as if it makes sense to just shoot the scene every other day. The changes are just too subtle for every day. This is what it looked like today. Everything is thinning. It's mostly the understory trees that still have foliage, although the brush is thinned out too.

You need to consider the total current draw on the USB with a full compliment (however many your charging at once) of chargers. As long as it's externally powered hub and capable of around 1500 mah (1.5 amps) you can use a passthrough as well. Each onboard USB bus (most have 2, 4ports = 2 busses) can't handle more than about 500ma (that's total per bus, not each port!) then burns the MoBo. Have you seen SteelJan's youtube about the SI pass through (she refers to the Belkin hub)? Lots of good general USB and passthrough info.

Yep, I found this out myself. I got the $6 four port powered charger - it will charge batteries but doesn't have the power for a passthrough. The Belkin "To Go" that Steeljan refers to, (and I just received from Amazon), will do both.

The primary difference is that the inhaler is considered a cessation device. If this happens to PV's and liquid we will be required to have a prescription or the liquid will be so regulated that it would quadruple the cost. Look at the cost of patches and gums.

I say that we just need to have a college group develop a new smoking test using some other unique tobacco signature found in the blood. Even something like a throat swab to look for "tobacconoids" (hehehe) or high levels of the base carbons in the smoke.

That would probably do it.

Problem is the Big tabacky and Drug pusher corps will find any way to either: outlaw them or get it so that they get 95% of the market so they can gouge it to death.. The day E-cigs become regulated is the death knell of independent vendors.

It isn't that I don't like them, they aren't tasty at all from what I hear. He's just odd looking, not an iguana, not a geko, he's just...
well, he has a blue tongue... that's something I guess.

Oh meddog how could you.... (tis okay not everyone likes reptiles)
Tommie is my 2.5yr old pet lizard. A blue tongue to be exact- see pic below :)

He was hand raised so love's his morning scratches and will come out of his heated house for a cuddle when you call him. He can also distinguish who calls him. For instance he knows mum is the bearer of snails and i am the bearer of run around time in the secured sun room.
Hi saber, its definately alot of good fun in here.
Uncle it has i drawbacks, ups n downs, dont want to live alone forever though.
A quiet night here, doing a shift for a friend. Hometime is a loooooong way off.
