Morning, Rave. Oops, it's now afternoon. I don't know what it's like in Mansfield where sbphotog lives, but it's more than gloomy here in the Cincinati area. It's been raining for days.

Here too. But, the creek is up. Maybe it'll finally clear out some of the dead trees left by the last storm. It's so gloomy and wet out there that I feel like I need to mourn something.

We have a flood watch here, but I'm on high ground and not near any waterways. I actually love rainy days, but this is too much for me. I'm getting more tired of the sound of the rain than I am the sight of it.

We had a creek there on the farm where I once lived. When it rained and the creek was up it looked like a mini Niagra River.

I'll trade you your rain for the -5 we had here last night... Perfect night for my boiler to go on the fritz  Woke up to 54 inside. Off to the hardware store and then time to become a heating system repair man. This could get ugly...wish me luck!

Wishing you all kinds of luck.....and some prayers too. That's always my greatest fear in the winter, losing the heat during a very cold spell.

I live on top of a big hill.....but all the roads leading off the hill flood at the bottom. So hopefully I won't get stranded lol.

Sounds like your house is safe, I'm glad to hear that. But I know what you mean about getting stranded when the low areas flood. Our rain is supposed to end by tomorrow and I imagine yours is too. It's probably from the same front. Then it's going to turn colder.

Don't know about bouncing batteries but to check voltage I take off the LED end cap and blow through that end (like a straw) while holding the leads of my meter on the contact points of the carto end.
A little tricky to perform at first but with a little practice it can be done fairly easily.

Thx! I hadn't thought of that angle! I guess one way to drain them hard would be a 50 ohm resistor across of it. Since cartos are only 3.0 or less a 50 could be left on it til it drained without damaging the battery from a continuous low res load. I just don't know how I would keep the switch activated.....

Thanks to those who posted the info about unchecking the social networks on ECF. While I was at it, I increased the number of posts per page, and clicked to block the avatars. I have an oldie but goody PC and it made things a lot faster for me.

PS .... just got the Volt xl kit Friday and am lovin' it! Placed another order today. :2cool:
