I was looking at becoming an affiliate of Smokeless Image. When creating an account, it asks for your SSN. I’m a little hesitant to give out my SSN. Why is this necessary? Should I be nervous about giving this out? How is that information stored in their database? I had a family member get their identity stolen and it destroyed their credit report. It happened almost 2 years ago, and they are still trying to get everything fixed on their record. It is a HUGE ordeal to appeal or dispute something on your credit report.

Has anyone else had concern giving out this info? I’m hesitant to sign up for the program and give out my SSN, than never actually generate any sales/commission. Then take that risk for no reason.

Imagine can correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember this being discussed before. As an Affiliate you are something like a commisioned employee and they are required to send you a 1099 over so much in earnings. Hopefully she'll be along with more info soon. As far as giving SI my SSN I wouldn't hesitate any more than I would giving it to the bank or an employer and I'm darn careful who I give any personal info to.

To kind head, they probably need it for taxes or something, SI is a legit company, its not just a generic referral thing. If you make money as a affiliate, they pay you from the company, and all the buisness tax stuff has to get done.

edit: Wuzznt Me beat me to it, but yeah, its like giving a employer your SSN

welcome Kind Head

Yes we need it for tax purposes as you get paid as a 1099 and we have to report the earnings to the IRS. You can give your SS# or your Tax ID.

We will be adding referral rewards to our rewards system soon which will not require that kind of info :)

I asked misty a few months ago she said that we were doing everything we could do to get to the top of the list but that there were still a few prominent vendors ahead of us (around 3 I think she said)...and she said it can take up to a year to get one.

Could the mods maybe make this thread a sticky instead in the mean time? I'm new to the forums, why is there a waiting list? Do you know what position SI is at on the list?

It probably wouldn't qualify for "stickying" (Wow - I just used "sticky" as a verb). But - If you're having trouble locating it easily, just click on the "WHAT'S NEW" button next to the "FORUM" button at the top of the screen. Since you've posted here now, the thread will show up under "My Posts". Then you can just click "View First Unread" which is a bookmark to your last unread post in this epic thread. Hope that helps ...

So.......... I am enjoying my passthrough, and then I see steeljan's response to my post that I shoudn't be running it out of the computer? When I first got it - just a week ago, I tried using the Volt wall adaptor and it didn't work. Doesn't work on any of my other usb wall adaptors either. But, it works great out of the usb2.0 port of my computer.

Should I be worried? Will it fry my computer? And, why doesn't it work with the Volt adaptor?

I'm a new Voltie guy, but not a voltage guy.
Sounds like you might've gotten one of the old ones (wall adapters). The new ones just came out, and they increased the amp output on those to fire up the passthroughs. Since it's within the 30 days, could you maybe contact CS and get it swapped out?

Just gave one of my Kuwaiti friends a starter kit. Awaiting feedback on it. Had to print out a larger instruction manual to make it easier for him to read.

Unfortunately, another vendor's Cinn-Danish and Green Tea has supplanted Classic Grape and 555 as my new all-day vapes. I'm keeping the Grape and 555 in reserve though.

Will probably wind up ordering some new batts soon. I bought two of the new sealed auto-batts and one of them was DOA within a week. Lights up but no voltage is going to the carto. Damn.
My classic shiny metal auto battery I got with my first order is holding on strong though. The other new ones I ordered a while back that have the smaller holes in them are also kind of wonky.
For the future I think I'll stick manuals or new sealed auto-batts provided quality control on the new sealed ones improves.

Well, back to work getting all these soldiers out of Iraq and home for the holidays.

Hello and welcome! I'm pretty funny about giving out info like that -well, I'm downright adamant about it. I type transcripts and occasionally I've had to for tax purposes. What I did was call up the IRS and got an Employer Identification Number, or EIN. (You don't have to have employees to do this - you are the employee) Basically, it's a number you can give out for tax purposes, it's linked to your SSN, but only by the IRS. To me, it's sort of like using PayPal with vendors, and safer. You can get more info about it at the IRS web site.

Well.... Looks like I'll have to go back to the analogs. The NTSB wants to ban all electronic devices in cars. That's when I enjoy my volt the most. Of coarse I'll probably run off the road trying to get my analog lit.
Washington (CNN) -- A federal safety board called Tuesday for a nationwide ban on the use of cell phones and text messaging devices while driving.

I dunno about you, but the road would be a lot less safe if I were jonesing for my Volt behind the wheel! I'm all for it if it were just cell phones and text messaging devices though (sorry if that's you) - I can always tell (like when they almost sideswipe me or cut me off), and they drive me nuts. So rude. Ruins my mellow buzz while I'm driving.

voltie Question I now have my first sealed volt I now have 3 (2 not sealed older ones)
Why or what Am I doing wrong that my attyies wont work in the sealed but do on my other volts?
I lowered the atties pin some and still nothing. :( only thing working on it is the CE2....

Also maybe you all have some charger knowledge?
I have 2 chargers one volt and one 901 and 3 808 batts that wont charge on either..
I also have a ego charger and 808 to 510 adapter but afraid to put anything but an ego on there.
These batts are used but sent to me charged and worked just fine not the vapor I like but they worked in a pinch.
Thay came with a A 808 pcc that wont charge them either... seeing as I know they hold a charge what in that word do I need to charge them?

Imagine seeing as I and some can't use cartos (filler blisters my mouth/throat) I would more than be happy with an atty that would work with the sealed volt. I know how ppl feel about dripping an auto but I'm living proof you can if you take care..
and a sealed volt is better then one not sealed if you have no choice but an atty no?

Still getting my sky blue I'll just have no choice but a ce2 but dripping just taste so good...

It's already been banned in Calif for a couple years now. Doesn't seem to stop a lot of people though, unfortunately. But I wonder if this new one includes using a bluetooth headset or the hands-free features in newer cars.
Obviously they didn't say "all electronic devices", as it would include the car radio or even the car for that matter! Both use a battery, just like the Volt :)
