Hi sherlockholmes! Welcome to Voltland.

Congratulations on your four months. I have been vaping for eight month now, but this is my second go-round. Two years ago I vaped for two months without smoking one analog. But the PV and juices I had were not satisfactory and I drifted back into smoking. I still continued to vape off and on.

Then the first of May I made up my mind to try vaping again and make it work. I upgraded my PV and found better juices and found it to be actually enjoyable. But I still smoked 3 analogs a day. Then in July I got my first Volts. They have made a big difference for me. And I found more juices that I liked, that's always the hardest part. I went down to two analogs a day.

Now I am down to one analog every day or two. I actually forget some days. LOL I decided to look at the positive side. Instead of beating myself up for the one analog a day, I think about all the analogs I'm not smoking. The funny thing is I don't crave them. It seems to be the ritual that I can't completely let go of yet. At least that's all I can figure out about it. Our minds can play such games with us. I have no desire to go back to smoking and the one analog does not make me crave another one. In fact, when I finish it I'm glad to go back to vaping because I like it much better!

I don't know if this is any help to you; I mainly wanted you to know you aren't the only one who hasn't gone to being completely analog free immediately. But from your post I think you are doing very well and will stick with it. Hang around and feel free to ask any questions or for any kind of help. The folks here are a great bunch and have helped me a lot.

Imagine - your warm, inviting, playful, and friendly spirit contributes hugely to SI's success.

Since coming to ECF, I've encountered some highly professional and generous vendors; However, I have never felt as cared about as I do here - you make the difference.

+1000 :) And kudos to the regular folk here that were so nice and so enthusiastic about the product. I had no intention of becoming a voltie...voltarian...volture........ but I'm happy I did!

I still have cravings for an analog, and I don't know if I can do without them completely. That is what I am struggling with right now. I still have feelings of guilt vaping, and smoking would just add to the guilt. Any thoughts on the subject would really be appreciated!
What nicotine strength have you ordered? You may need to try a stronger one for awhile to get past the cravings. And if you mostly vape but have a couple token cigs a day for mental comfort, that's fine too. Some day you'll be able to go without those, but there's no rush. Just go at your own pace. The important thing is to find the nic & flavor that lets you have the most satisfaction from vaping.

Thanks for the advice, Starsong! I'm waffling between 24 mg and 18 mg; I may even try mixing the two, but right now I'm experimenting with different flavors, just as you suggested.

I feel guilty because it has been beaten into my head that anything less than total abstinence from any nicotine product is failure. I'm so not used to hearing the kind of advice you just gave me.:)

@SherlockHolmes, at 298 days ciggy-.... free, I still get a craving for a real smoke now and then. Can't figure out what triggers it but, it happens. I refuse to cave. I find two things that help; I vape a higher mg nicquid than my normal mg for a short time and I also come read on ECF. The support of the community has helped more than I can say. Every smoke avoided is a good thing so hang in and best of luck to you! :)

Imagine does make this whole thing work doesn't he? He seems to be around at all hours of the day and night - ready to help. Don't find that in too many places. Thanks Imagine!

Imagine is a she. And yes, she seems to live on this forum, with very little personal time. She handles a very demanding job extremely gracefully.

getting there ....the pictures for the site have been taken :) should be up soon

I thought you said the soft rubber drip type tips were in Imagine. Either I can't find them (highly possible) or I misunderstood. (Also highly possible. Not ageing gracefully.)

+1 to all this. Let me also add to beat the cravings I shop online. Usually for liquid. Beware, this can be a slippery slope!

I always found the worst of the cravings came when I was around other smokers. I have a lot of practice quitting (on attempt 9 & most successful so far). I really knew I was falling out with the analogs when I would vape a real strong flavor right after smoking to wash the taste out of my mouth. It's not a race, and cisme's is right, every analog not smoked is another small victory!
