Great thread guys. I also got a Squape r with w and b decks. For some reason i cant get the w deck to work right. Using 26g kanthal and 28 g ni . B deck is awesome apart from leaking a bit tho . Still waiting for my bell cap from cloud9 . It has been 12 days...
How high are you running it? My w deck is awesome on a Provari. Not so much on the higher power boxes. The d deck on the other hand keeps up perfect.

So I ordered a squape rs tank portion from vaperev (only the tank portion to save money.) They sent me the whole squape rs, deck and all. I'm highly disappointed in vaperev

Looks like I'll have an extra deck to have a new and fresh build on so that i can conveniently swap it out with a fresh one with no effort.

The left side is all black and the right is silver. Obv not burning right. What's going on?

On a spaced build, no coils should be touching. It looks like there's 2 coils touching on the left, this will make it very hot in that area.

They are not touching though. They are cloe together bbut just not touching.
Are they supposed to glow at all?

It looks like they are hot spotting, I would space them out a little more evenly, work them a little

Apparently they are shorting if it's showing more heat there than the rest of the coil.

Can you burn the coil before putting cotton in or is it going to cause issues?
How do i resolve the issue?

I've been so busy with work and some long ... days that I haven't been able to keep up with my reading. Man you miss a day or two here and it's next to impossible to catch up - things move so fast. But this thread has quieted down a bit. I guess everyone is just loving there Squape's. I know I am. I'm also loving my spaced Kanthal builds too....a lot actually. Good call whom ever recommend them to me.

Junny you definitely have a hot spot if your coil and wick are darker on the one side. I've had that happen before. When it happens I usually just rebuild and start over. Saves time and frustration.

Everyone is leading you in the right direction. Try to make sure your wraps are evenly spaced. After looking at your picture I thought the wraps on the left were touching too. Photos can be misleading though. And I wouldn't recommend dry firing nickel. Makes it all funky'd up.

I spend some time after wrapping my coil to make sure the spacing looks good and nothings touching. Rarely do I get hot spots any more. But it does the time and practice.

Thanks, much appreciated!! I shall give it another go. I know the spaces arent even...but there is not that much room there to begin with.

thanks

All of this is why I'm dreading getting into the nickel...
Did buy a couple nickel coils for my atlantis though. Haven't tried them yet.

You should try on nickel.. Ya may get a fail now or then, but really not that much of a diff with kanthal.
True that. I failed miserably in the beginning with my first builds. But the more I built and the more I read, the better I got and now I'm like - why did I think it was so hard. Now I prefer building with nickel more so than Kanthal. And Junny you will too. It just takes a little time and practice. Just like Kanthal did in the beginning. I'm just learning how awesome spaced Kanthal builds are too. Love'em!

I'm really intrigued with the new Aspire tank and coils that are close to being released. The new aspire coils are made with food grade SS. I wonder what it's like to use SS over nickel?
