I started out with the screw method but have since gone to a smooth post, the threads on the screw i was using meant a pretty spaced out coil and im not sure if that's the way to go... going to try a tighter 3mm now so let's see
I tried the 'screwed' method too, but it always left my coil legs facing the wrong direction and I can't seem to find a left threaded screw anywhere. They sure where pretty though. [emoji4]

First impressions on the D(ouble) deck. I got the steel nano-kit as well, since i was expecting flavor to be increased by it.

AWG 26 0.40mm A1 around 2.5mm drillbit, 8 wraps @30-33W (0.54Ohm final resistance)

Pros:
- Good vapor production as expected.
- Good flavor, need to play more with coil heights.
- Appears to wick my home-made 100% VG juice well enough.

So-So/Cons:
- Not a super easy build anymore.
- 2.2mm airhole too tight, 3.1mm a bit on the airy side (for my build) with slightly diminished flavor. Would wish for a slotted AFC with this deck.
- It's not my Origen V3 dripper.

Those are some purty coils. But man you're going to blow thru that little tank in no time with duel coils. Lol.

Are you finding better flavor over your full size tank? Me, I was/am using nickel in mine and I'm not sure I can tell a difference in flavor. But I thought for sure I would with that reduced chimney.

And to anybody interested. Still holding steady at .13ohm's here on day two at 5am.

I might need to revisit my B deck sooner rather than later. Now that I sort of know what to expect. Maybe [emoji12]

what are you running for .13? mine seems to be undecided on .13 or .14, as far as I can see everythings good and I might just be somewhere too close to the middle for it to make a decision, vapes perfect at .14 though

edit: perfect at 25W that is, I am looking for more though (I used to eat analogs)

I'll have to do a side by side comparison, ideally with a different flavor as i have been vaping on the same thing for weeks and starting to loose the taste of it.
The last build i had on the W deck was a nickel as well, but i wasn't a huge fan of it. Somehow i seem to like contact-coils more, and with single Kanthal coils i couldn't get the vapor production that i love on my drippers (same build as in the dual coil Squape).

I vape 12mg so i'm not a chainvaper, but the small tank will most likely be a somewhat inconvenient. If there is no big difference in flavor with the big tank, ill probably end up using that one instead. Time will tell :)

Just saw this haha left threaded screw, they usually keep em next to the left handed screwdrivers... Seriously though, cant you just flip it? I ran the legs on the lower side since I needed to raise the coil up anyway, if i wanted them above... confused thinking about it..

Is there a US-based vendor that has the Squape in stock right now? I tried a few and they all show "out of stock"...
Thanks to Mr. Jordan Spieth I have some Masters gambling winnings that are burning a hole in pocket right now. I'm thinking an SX Mini + the Squape would make for a really nice setup....

I tried flipping it, but it didn't work. And there's really left handed screw drivers? Or are you just screwing with me. HAHAHA[emoji23]

Currently I'm running at 17watts watts, 440 degrees. It's a great vape, good vapor and great flavor.

At first when I started using nickel I thought I had to throw all this power at it. But I soon found out I didn't need to, and I still got a great vape.

THE B Deck Story - Part 1

Hello fellow "cult" members. :)

It's time for my B deck install. First I stripped the beast all the way down. Then hot water and then a soak in Denture cleaner. Then a hot water bath and compressed air to dry. What's left? My installed W deck!!!! It's not cooperating! /lol Can't remove it. Don't want to scratch it with my meaty pliers + tape. Into the freezer the base + W deck goes for about 20 minutes. Bingo! That did it. Removed the W deck with my fingers. So that's what it looks like down their. Another cleaning for the stripped (no deck) base and clean the B deck.

Stay tuned for more!

I think he meant, flip your coil around so the leads come out the right way. That's actually what I do, I wrap around a screw for beautiful spaced coils, and then I have the leads UNDER the coil instead of over since the leads come out that way when you use a screw thread. Then I just push the coil inside inline with the wick channels. Absolutely superb, and super duper easy to make the coil.

And yes, they do make left handed screws. Although I haven't been able to find any in the sizes I want at Ace. You can order from Mcmaster Carr left handed screws.

THE B Deck Story - Part 2

b-deck-build-composite-final-1.jpg

Well "cult" that was interesting. Felt a little strange after my long term affair with the W deck. /lol

Everything gets a thorough lube before assembly with 50/50 PG/VG since I DIY and it's always around. 6 or was it 7 wraps /lol of Kanthal around a 3 MM screw driver for 1.5 OHMS. A little higher than normal but who cares for a first build. Stuffed to the gills with KGD and fluffy fluffy tails by blowing on them. Gently stuff the fluffy stuff down into the deck. Not tight but just gentle and fluffy in the deck. Lets see what happens down the road and if juice leaks into the air hole. So far no but only a couple of tanks will tell me. I really debated how high to place the coil above the air hole but then I said, self...this is a first build so lets just vape it and see how I like it. I'm sure I will be tweaking this first build to see if my vape improves. I also took pictures as you can see so I can refer back to them to insure I replicate the Kanthal build and wire it into my brain. NI200 comes later after I see how this build works over time. Vaping my own Apple centric mix at 6MG - 50/50.

So far the vape is about the same as my W deck. Hopefully, this B deck will prove to be less inclined to produce intermittent small leaks out of the air hole and an occasional dry hit via the W deck.

/the end!

You know I took a bunch of photos of my first build on the B deck but I didn't post any of them because of my EPIC failure.

I got to thinking, and I'm putting this out there. I noticed that my coil sat quite high compared to the placement of my W deck. How much clearance is there from the top of the deck to the bottom of the chimney. I wonder if my coil was touching the top of the chimney.

Because of the special coating I wasn't going to end up with a short, but that sure would mess up the resistance, right? And that's when all my problems began. Maybe that's not what happened, but I wonder.

I'm still holding rock steady at .13ohm's with my W deck. So I'm trying to think of all the reasons I had a complete melt down. So what you all think? I'll post one of the build photos for you all to see. And man, I oh so wanted this to work. It looked so damn good. Goes to show you, looks ain't everything. Said somebody. uploadfromtaptalk1429232598610.jpguploadfromtaptalk1429232616299.jpguploadfromtaptalk1429232629792.jpg

Looks awesome, I'm running the coil straight down the middle of the posts which of course means rather long legs and I've actually found it pretty fiddly... I wonder how the angled coil works out in terms of wicking though? One way to find out and will try to give it a go later today!

From how it looks from here, I don't think that height should have caused a problem, I was running mine fairly high on the W and I did consider it might connect with the chimney, but I didnt have resistance issues to suggest it actually did.
