Why am I Not Surprised by this?

I'm willing to bet, and my conviction continues to grow, that njoy already has a backroom deal in place with BT and the feds, where they'll be one of the few independent brands that are allowed to survive the bloodbath that's going to accompany the FDA application process, and the industry consolidation that will immediately follow it. Of all the cigalike brands not yet controlled by BT, they're the only one with sufficient capital and a small enough product line that they can survive the application/approval period relatively unscathed. They could still be destroyed by the Evil Empire, but it would take more money and more work than any other brand would require. The racketeers have obviously decided to save themselves the trouble by making njoy's board an offer along the lines of "Just play ball for our side and we'll let you be in the cartel when this is all over."

Kr3w, is "near beer" and Odools, and root beer type of non alcohol included in that signature required at purchase plus with every single delivery from there on in? What about beer mugs, wine glasses, champagne glasses and goblets? What about corkscrews and corks? Cocktail napkins? Cherrys? Toothpicks?

When you guys are calling/emailing your legislators in opposition of this bill, be sure to mention that this law would impose restrictions on e-liquid that do not exist for any other non-tobacco nicotine product. I realize that appeals to common sense are usually wasted on the members of our esteemed legislature, but this is the one fact that we need to be consistently emphasizing. Many of them will have done so little research on the legislation that they don't even realize such a discrepancy exists, and that it makes it unlikely for the law to survive judicial review if passed. Bring it to their attention. Over and over again.

If I was any good at Photoshop, I'd change this picture to depict an NJoy King in Benedict Arnold's mouth.

I'm not surprised either because it was NJoy. What is frustrating and to my utter dismay; they were the ONLY vendor there!!! So, eh... well, perception is reality, NJoy speaks for the entire industry in California. Period.

You gotta be kidding me! That is akin to traitor status in my book. So long all you calif vendors. Shame on you!

Short, simple, I could keep writing for hours on this topic and with more details but everyone else (in a few other online communities) are dying to see the report so I kept it as to the point as I could without spending too much time writing and polishing it.

TL;DR: Assemblyman Roger Dickinson is a liar for saying “adults are not interested in flavors” and NJoy was there to throw us all under the bus. USPS was clearly interested in making some extra money over the backs of vapers.

Well I for one had the time just due to financial restrictions, I could not make it up there.

A while back I suggested that we print small messages on a dollar bill in favor of ecigs. I was admonished
saying it was illegal to deface currency. But yet sometimes you will see small stamps on money
about trackig where this dollar went. I left it alone, it would have been a good idea to get our positive
message out enmasse to the many the only way we could even have minute chance to fight agains the big monied interests.

As far as the turn out, not so many vendors showed up. Maybe because they think the passage of this law would favor
them. But the execs of Njoy making statements such as "only children like flavors". I hope they don't live to regret their apathy
seeing their once profitable businesses being shuttered.

If big business has their way it will drive this industry underground.
This whole system is corrupt to the highest oh highs.
Thanks for your efforts all those who were able to attend.
We will keep up the good fight as long as we can.

Just on a side note; FCC is thinking of letting net neutrality expire.
How much doe these greedy shmucks need.
I feel like an invisible iron curtain is coming down.
The evil masters are pulling the noose even tighter
controlling us all like rats in a cage. The scenario is seemingly becoming
slightly nightmarish; at least for me with somewhat open eyes not afraid
to see; yet know one cares until their ox gets gored. They won't fight because the
masses are divided fragmented and dumb; man.....

A network of small, complicated rules. It does not break wills, but softens them. It does not tyrannize, it hinders, represses, stupefies, and finally it reduces each nation to being nothing more than a flock of timid animals, of which the government is the shepherd.

Oh, Uma. I'm so angry. And so disappointed.

Idiots. Puppets.

Where is Arnold when we need him? Who's going to veto this crap? Gov. Moonbeam?
:hugs:  :huge group hug:
I haven't been this let down in quite awhile.
Idea: meme "adults love Flavors" if you're an adult who likes Flavors please like this post.
Idea: FB page :adults who like Flavors". If you're an adult and you like Flavors, please like this page.

I was just visiting a jellybean site. They did a study on flavor attraction, and the only flavor both groups, children and adults, agreed on, was some kind of cherry. Adults and Kids Disagree About Favorite Flavors
Children don't like complex Flavors such as coconut, cappuccino, whatever. Interesting.

1. Invent an imaginary threat.
2. Use propaganda and disinformation to stoke public fears about the threat.
3. Announce that new laws are needed to "protect the children" from the threat.
4. Watch people happily surrender their liberties because they think they're protecting children.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 until no liberties remain.

Didn't we used to have a word for this exercise? Oh, that's right, it was called "fascism."

Well I for one had the time just due to financial restrictions, I could not make it up there.

That's entirely fine. I understand that not everyone can make it to show up at these things. In fact, if everyone did it would probably cause some major chaos in the whole of Sacramento! :)

But the actual numbers, even after repeated info going out on multiple networks, social media, CASAA, email, vendors alerting their customers (like Velvet Cloud in SF did when they did their discount promo) is really frustrating. I don't know what the number of vapers in CA is but I know that there must be at least thousands in easy reach who wouldn't have to even take an entire day off. So the total number we had was... well, I have heard this is the same in many other places as well.

Thanks Stefan. So now what do we do? What's the next step--if any?

I'm not sure if there is a good step, or at least a step that would really have a last shot at things. This thing is now going to make it up the chain and I can only wonder what it means when NJoy said they wanted to work with legislators on "the wording" (yet were in support of the bill so I don't think they implied changing it, just the wording). Having Gov Brown not sign it would be a good one... but I have a feeling we're not going to be able to make that happen. If today was any indication, that is.

In my opinion, NJoy should henceforth be regarded as a willing accomplice of the tobacco industry. Because that's sure as hell what they act like.

No, our government should henceforth be regarded as a willing accomplice and co-conspirator with the tobacco industry against the citizens.

The government of the people, by the people and for the people...
