Hehe.

Mine is somewhere between 4.5 and 6.5 watts, depending on the device and the eliquid I'm using. Filler-type cartomizers and delicate flavors like fruit do better lower wattages, fillerless cartos (eGo-C and T, BCC, ViVi Nova etc.) and tobacco and coffee flavors like it a bit hotter.

Please bear in mind that vaping at too low or too high a wattage jeopardizes the proper vaporization of eliquids. :)

Agreed. And that is what I vape, tobacco and coffee flavors almost exclusively, with an occasional chocolate flavor thrown in.
While there are some that I might turn the Twist down a bit for, I usually have it pegged at 4.8 volts.

And the vast majority preferred under 9.0 watts at 63%.

I'll give you credit where credit is due, the 37% is higher than I would have imagined it to be. Still, just a small sample of people who actually saw and participated in the poll.

I don't recall voting myself, and I would have had trouble deciding what to put, because I'm all across the voltage range depending upon the flavor I'm vaping.

Most atties and juices taste way better at around 20 watts IMHO. I think the number is low because people have not tried it and because of fear mongering. 7.4V or bust.

I'm not sure it's fear mongering so much as being responsible. For someone to vape at extended wattages or voltages requires a certain knowledge of what's going on, and recommending that people try it without the proper knowledge to do so safely is a good way to see people get hurt, and to ensure we're going to see some pretty significant regulation as vaping receives more and more bad press. The Darwin Awards exist for a reason, and BELIEVE ME, I've seen my fair share of recipients over the years.:laugh:

Hey, I quit smoking some time ago, I'm not going back. ;)

Seriously though, are you sure of your math? What device are you using?

Anyway, I don't "taste" anything above 9 or 10 watts, just hot, dry, nasty sizzle. Yuck!

Been there. Done that. Hated it.

(But not even close to that wattage!)

Hey, your way works pretty damn good!!! Double the ohms and add.3

No more guessing... thanks!

I showed in another thread there is a problem with this method, it puts you all over the place and isn't very consistent.

Using a 1.5 ohm carto, 1.5 + 1.5= 3v, this gives 3.3v total, that's 7.26 watts
Using a 2 ohm carto, 2 +2= 4v, this gives 4.3v total, that's 9.24 watts
Using a 3 ohm carto, 3 + 3= 6v, this gives 6.3v total, that's 13.23 watts.
This method goes from a really cool vape, to a really hot vape depending on what carto you use. A much easier method, that keeps it more consistent is to just add 2 to the resistance to get the voltage.
Examples,
1.5 ohm carto, add 2, 3.5v, this gives 8.17 watts
2 ohm carto, add 2, 4v, this gives 8 watts
3 ohm carto, add 2, 5v, this gives 8.33 watts.
This keeps you right in the 8 watt range, then you can adjust up and down from there to get the flavor you want.

I have 3 mods that I vape at 7.4v on a 3 ohm atty. You can see them here. The batteries usually charge a bit higher the 7.4v so that is why I said around 20watt but you are right a strait 3.0 ohm using ohms law is 18watt. I am pretty sure on the math I did it by hand and using that online calculator I linked to earlier.
