i really dont care about the strong hit ( i really dont like too strong) but i mostly want a good battery life and lots of vapor.

The 801 has better battery life, more vapor, more flavor, but less throat hit, is bigger, and consumes liquid faster.

The 901 has a better throat hit, is more juice efficient, but the battery and cartridge life is lower than the 801.

What are you exactly looking for in an ecig? If you want something to carry out with you, try a 510 or a 901, if it's just for at home. get some BE112 atomisers from BesteCig and batteries from somewhere else.

I like the 901... Haven't tried a penstyle... Good size and good performance from the 901.

If you go with 901... I would make sure you get the latest 901 original SLB model and not the copy RN-4075, IMO the copy is much poorer quality and performance.

You might want to try a couple of things out before stock-piling parts for one or the other...

Get a Janty Stick. The batteries are $3 and change. If you buy 801's at $18 each, 4 of those would pay for the Janty. And with heavy vaping, these batteries go a LOT longer per charge. It is also a little (no, a lot!) more discrete to carry.
Just got mine today, and packed all my half dead batteries away. I have spent a FORTUNE on them! And every time I burned out a battery, I also had an atomizer go cold. Coincidence?? No more. If you love the 801's big cart, you will be glad you got the Janty. Now you will have to find out which one, the AUTO (I have that one) or the MANUAL, which I understand takes a little bit to get used to, but read through the reviews, you can maybe find someone to ask about that. Good luck!

The 801 is a solid platform. The off the shelf battery life is quite decent. The vapor production is merely okay with regular batteries. If you get a USB pass-through, the 801 really comes to life. Likewise, a good battery mod that pushes 4-5 volts will get the atomizer chugging for you.

I'd say, if you're okay with the 801 carts and atomizers, then get 3-4 backup atomizers, and look toward a USB pass-through or a battery mod. Just a pass-through will give you an affordable look at what a battery mod will do.

yea i got a pass-through Saterday and so far i love it!! i am a stay home mom but spend my free time ( what little i have stay home moms put in way more than 9-5 jobs lol) on my lap top. But also am in the car alot running kids around. Do they make a pass-through for car charger? right now i only have 2 batt so if i am going to be gone all day i am worried about finding both dead and breaking down and buying a pack of analogs ( last thing i want to do) So if i really like the vapor and hit from the 901 maby i should just stock up on batt and attys for it!

I think if you're likin' on the pass-through, then just start looking at battery mods. They'll deliver that kind of experience, but will free you from the wires and have long battery life. For store-front solutions, there's the Trog Screwdriver, the Puresmoker Prodigy, and maybe the Zi-moshi Lightvapor (he was leaving country for while, so not sure).

You can also check on the Modders Forum, some of the folks there will do builds for people.
If you or anyone you know can solder, there are some explicit instructions for how to build a Magnum(flashlight mod), a NicoStick(box battery mod), and maybe a couple other designs.

If I were just going to buy one from the store, I'd probably go after an 801 Prodigy from Truesmoker, they're still in 'preorder' only, but it looks to be a good mod, if a tiny bit too powerful at a full 5 volts.

Anyways, that's the 'sort' of approach I've decided on, based on having lost 3 batteries due to bad switches, one atomizer due to a bad battery, and one USB pass-through due to a bad switch (all in about 6 weeks).
I now prefer to just load up on atomizers and use 'anything' but standard power supplies, cuz that's where you lose your investment. I suppose the Janty Stick could be an option as well, since it gets you away from the expensive batteries.

Hope that gives you some ideas, best of luck!

When I got my Kissbox, I said goodbye to the automatic switches on any PV. The manuals are not that tough to get used to, and they perform better, IMO. The Kissbox is still my first "love" of PV's, gets a little attention each day.

The stick is a wonderful product - so far (and keep in mind I've not yet had it a week, so there is, undoubtedly, some "new penny" shine still in my opinion :D).... the manual switch is well-placed and not that difficult to operate. 1 battery will last me all day - that's an hour commute each way, and vaping at break (out of fairness for the smokers, I'm not allowed to vape in my cube - openly-). The batteries also re-charge quickly.

I've also vaped an 801, a 901, and a screwdriver. Each has its positives and negatives....it all boils down to what, exactly, you want in a device.
