You know, I think the clone fanboys are a more militant bunch than the Prowhatzit owners.
But if you want a real crazy bunch, throw some stones around the Reo owners.

That's it! I'm going back to analogs! I can handle this vaping thing! You're so clique-y!

LOL, it all depends what's hot and what's cold at any given time. It's not just hardware either. I remember when I first joined ECF the GG owners were being bashed pretty regularly and heaven help you if you got into vaping and had never smoked . Then the mechanical mod and sub-ohm craze came in, the GG guys were forgotten and everyone got on the anti sub-ohm bandwagon. Somewhere in that mix VW happened and man, did that ever get the VV people riled up

These days it's OK to vape if you never smoked as long as you use zero nic juice, sub-ohm vaping is much more accepted, you don't hear too much about VV vs VW any more and the clone wars are settling down lately too. Provari is still up there, but I doubt it will be for long. I read a post on Reddit the other day about how vaping one of the new high power regulated mods at 100 watts could possibly be safe and it was irresponsible to give vaping opponents this ammunition against vaping. I think this will be the next hot topic here.

It's all pretty silly really, but it's human nature and it's not going away anytime soon.

Vape on.

BTW, love the avatar :thumb:

No it's not a lot of Provari owners. Don't forget, there are a lot of them out there. I always see the same few people doing the fanboy/fangirl thing when someone says something negative about a ProV (real or imagined). Then there are the people that always chime in with their anti Provari sentiment (real or imagined). Anti-fanboyism? They are just as bad, just in the opposite direction.

Generalizing just makes things worse in the long run, for everyone. Yes, there is always a grain of truth to these things, but if you look at it objectively I believe the vast majority of Provari owners are just as down to earth as everyone else. Same for the reverse-fanboy type, not too many of them out there. And we can debate the chicken and egg thing all night, but in the end one of these groups is nothing without the other.
To be fair...back in the day it used to be the V4L people...it was like they were stalking the new people advice threads and jumping the question before even reading the full post...totally ignoring the preferences of the op...
An example.... the other day...some lady was asing if ecigs were good for someone who works outside landscaping...wanted something small that they could hold in the mouth while mowing...much like they did with a cigarette....sure enough second or third response in was to get a provari..
What?...how is that helpful to what the poster actually asked?.... I'm convinced more than half the people don't get past "what's the best"....or advice please... before pimping their own preference without reading the rest of the op in the thread...the majority of responses that person got were for some mod + RBA combo....which I admit would be amusing to watch someone trying to do actual labor trying to let something like that dangle from the mouth, but not helpful to the poster's question.....unfortunately, a lot of those were pushing the provari...

Oh I remember the GG wars....again, a bunch of GG owners jumping threads and saying get a GG without paying any attention to what people were asking for advice on...or them and the GG creator whining that people copied his design or idea....others complaining about his flaws in devices which he said were character in handbuilt collectable mods, or that he shipped in toilet tissue, or the different vendors he totally screwed...or the continually leaking tank system that was an ongoing experiment that owners had to keep buying upgrade parts for, or one of his fanboys that stacked like 6 123a batteries into one of his devices and turned it into a rocket....
Oooh those were good times...

This post suggests an attitude unbecoming of an humble vaper. This is why I say it's not the device, it's the user. Hate the playa, not the game.

do we really have to be "humble" vapers? (there is just no way to convey the correct inflection in this sentence)

I don't think myself to be particularly humble or particularly proud.
I like vaping, I'm glad I stopped and I'm having fun with my PVs.

This thread is great!!! I get a real kick out of reading it!!! When I read it I get the sense that neither side has a true conviction but rather this is just some friendly banter. Like a bunch of guys competing over who has the best stereo system in there car. Or the nerds taking about how much ram they have or how big there hard drive is!!!

We're all vapors here. We all love a good vape. Some love making it an art and building their own coils while others don't want the hassle. Some want more power while others are happy with an ego. No problem since we all love our vape!!! So the question I have is....Watcha Vapin? I'm happy for the Provari owners that love their new shiny!!! Is it for me....no. I love my epipes. Does that mean they shouldn't love it...no.

What I find problematic is that the OP thought the clerk should have loved it. I have to agree with the poster that said the clerk probably knew full well what a mod is. Maybe the clerk was new and still in training. That sounds reasonable to me since there were 2 clerks and the second clerk knew so much more.

Point is we should all cut each other a little slack. To me, there are 2 types of people. Those who vape and those don't. There are too many ANTZ out there for us to bicker with each other. So, watcha Vaping?

Sounds like you went in wanting to show of your expensive toys and act like an .... She is a sales person, expect them to have you look at the products they sell and from what you said she didnt say anything bad, you just wanted to show off. Also why would getting your wife on ecigs be a success?
