The reason I have a provari is so I can feel better than all my other vaping friends. I like them to know I have more money then them to spend on gear.

then you want one of these, i mean really whats a lousy 3 grand when your trying to rub it in someones face :D

Whats a Provari?

Yeah... I am curious as to what a Provari is also.

And more so...

Is it Better than a Darwin?
Is it Better than a Box Mod?
Is it Better than a LavaTube?
Is it Better than a MechMod?
Is it Better than a zMax?
Is it Better than a Vamo?
Is it Better than a eVic?

I think we need more Threads about Whether or Not something is Better than a Provari.

no no we dont.
whats "better" is subjective.

i know its the only mod i dont think about when i leave the house.
i know they answer my emails the same day when i write to them.
i know it will always be reparable. no need to spend another 80 dollars on a new POS made one.
i feel good supporting an american company who knows what they are doing.
i like knowing as much as mine has been in the rain it still runs flawlessly.
i like knowing the circuitry and the board is superior to any chinese "z" board
while not mil-spec i like knowing they centered around military design rules for the electronics (less is more)
and i can kill a mugger with it too

Just out of curiosity since there are several vets posting in the thread, what's the oldest PV you own that still works perfectly?

For me .... Silver Bullet, followed closely by a Mako. (both 2 years old)

Eldest of Clan-Provari is 15 months - she is my oldest functioning mod. Numbers 2, 3 & 4 are also Provari, as I've sold everything else off, except three new (soon-to-be-two) DNA20's.

I've sent a couple of the Provari clan back for repairs - takes about a week. No complaints.

My (old) Lavatube and Twists gave me absolute fits, and a VV Gripper got sold quickly, when I realized it didn't stand a chance of surviving me. I had a Denali, but sold that too, because I was afraid I'd break it. And breaking a Denali is just something that would have also broken my heart.

I've been vaping for only 15 months. My first mods were AltSmoke's Silver Bullet and BB, both about 14 months old now.

The Silver Bullet was one of the first couple of mass-produced mods available to vapors. I know the original/current owner of AltSmoke and have chatted with him on numerous occasions. He says the SB continues to be an extremely popular and high-volume selling product to this day, an attribute to its original design and fine machine work. Kudo's to Chad the designer and maker. The SB will soon see a minor design change; the switch will be changed from the current version to a completely mechanical one, making the SB a true mechanical mod.

My third mod was my first Provari, about 10 months old. I've not had any issues whatsoever with it or the SB.

The BB had to be sent back to Chad to have the switch replaced after a battery vented through it (as it was designed to do; the BB and SB have no vent holes). It was repaired free of charge and returned within a week of being sent in for repair.

...

Are you sure?

Because it seems that there are Very Few Long and Heated threads comparing the Provari to some Other vvpv here on the ECF.

BTW- Why is it that Everything is Compared to a Provari? Kinda like the Provari is about the Highest Standard by which a PV is Made, Sold and Customer Supported by.

Maybe just the Fact that Everyonb wants to be As Good, or Better, than a Provari is the Sign of Something?

A mythical cross between a Protractor and Variares.

Like the R.O.U.S. (rodents of unusual size) - they don't exist.

..........Speechless..... Almost had to have my PV surgically removed from my eyeball... One of those uncontrollable laughs that come out of now-where and you just automatically project yourself forward at the same time !!! IDK , you get the picture..

Quite a few, I think you meant?

Yes, the fact everyone wants to be compared to the ProVari tells a lot. Also, the fact that its critics are overwhelmingly non-owners, and its most strident defenders are owners is telling.

And all that stuff about reliability, accuracy, durability, a firm that stands proudly behind their product, tons of veteran owners, etc. helps too.

My wife is having a hard time giving up cigs. Any change in the taste of juice she notices and she will put it down. Finding something she likes and can vape has been hard. I needed a PV that is dependable to give consistent performance every time.
I do not need that consistent a vape to keep from smoking, but I do have PV envy now. Her Provari is sexy!! White mini w/Green LED and a white drip tip to contrast whatever color IBTank she is using...

And profit thing?

these are the ones I bought;

Smokech tank.
RY4 juice
Tip
2 cartomizers.

total of $45

This guy was selling ProVari v2 for $185. Tesla for $79. eVic for $105.

I havent checked other shops so I don't know if the store has good price or not.

I do own eGo-v and eVic now.

As I love eVic at this moment, I really will have hard time to convince myself to buy ProVari...

Wait until that Evic takes a header (and it will eventually) onto a tile floor. Then you'll understand why people buy Provaris.

@ 185 bucks for a Provari in your B&M gives the owner a profit of 5 bucks

@105 bucks for an Evic the store owner makes a profit of 20-30 dollars.

Bottom line is the Provari is more accurate because it uses a linear filter to keep the voltage at a steady 5.0 volts or whatever you set it at. An Evic doesnt have a linear filter.

Ask the owner if you can try your juice on the Provari and then on the Evic. May take a couple of times on each but you will probably taste a difference.

If not I guess congratulations are in order....your tastes arent refined enough to tell a 30 dollar pv from a 180 dollar one....the Provari was made for those of us who can.

I find it amusing that all of these posts boil down to OTHER THAN the reliability, accuracy, durability, and a firm that stands proudly behind their product, what is so great about a Provari?

That is the One Thing that gets me Bent about Someone Bashing a Provari. Or anything for that Matter.

I have read Too many Threads where someone gets All Animated about how they Don't Like this or they Don't like That about something. But when you ask them How Long have they Owned it, they tell you they have Never Bought one.

If a Person buys something, uses it for a Couple of Weeks, and Doesn't Like it, Fine. Rant Away.

But I think More than Half of the Provari vs _________ threads I read are people Bashing a Provari and Don't even Own One.

lol i have chipped two tiles at work now around my desk. and i still dont see any damage on the Pro.

in a small way i kind of understand. to a lot of people its a tube with a battery for some strange reason it costs twice as much as the nicest china mod and they have a hard time reasoning that out,
so it better be twice as good, when in reality its not, its just better at what it does and your paying some of that for the reliability and durability. not fancy features.
like all things in this world there are those that want bells and whistles and the provari is not for them.
in a world of jaguars and fararri's i consider the proV the hummer of APV's not the sexiest but the strongest most durable, it does what it does and does it well.
