I just use a big bag of generic, organic cotton balls. Says it's bleached with hydrogen peroxide. That's bad? Coz it's all I've used for years now.
That’s what I used until a guy at a shop I used to frequent gave me some KGD pads. I don't think there's any problem with them.

I generally use Muji pads (cheaper then KGD, appears to be similar) but honestly, we don't really truly know if it's any cleaner than cotton balls. Organic only means it wasn't chemically treated but who really knows what was done in the fields. I live in Alabama, this time of year they are gearing up to get the stuff to the gin, still some weeks left though.

The stuff in the fields is just as white and pretty as what's in the bags at the store. Some here is grown organically but the stuff across the street from it isn't and you really can't control the wind with a crop duster, lol.

Honestly cotton could be a bigger scam than batteries, lol, who knows.

For reasons I cannot fathom muji and I don't see eye to eye. It is literally the only wick I can't seem to make work. Hell I make Egyptian Cotton work but can't for the life of me get a decent vape from muji. Bugs me to no end.

I generally use a little more of it than I would if using bacon or KGD. I also try not to mess with it, other than pinching the end to thread the coil. Lastly I always remove that outer sheet on either side as well. I actually just used my last piece today (the pack lasted almost 2 years, lol) but I've got so much bacon laying around from freebies that I need to use up, lol.

If worse comes to worse run across the street and grab a couple handfuls. One you pull out the seeds it should be fine :D

Yeah...did all that. I never understood the allure of CB. It works well but I can't tell much difference between it and rayon. Haven’t tried native wicks platinum or readyx(?) wicks yet.

Oh, I've picked some removed the boll and combed it. Would probably work fine on higher PG stuff but doesn't wick well on max VG. I could probably get it to work but honestly it's just too much work to process it, lol (not to mention picking).

Now I've gotten some scraps from the gin after processing and it worked really well but still easier to just buy it. After it's been ran through the machines you have to boil it at least a few times, cause it's just a dusty dirty environment.

I'm not really a fan of bacon, I mean it works but there's other options out there just as good and a better price. Now if people are giving it away I'll take all they hand me and happily use it.

ReadyxWick, welcome to 2014!
Dig out your gennys and wick em up with a boutique version of EkoWool. :D

I still have some of Boden's BD13 Sintered Alumina (Al2O3) wicks if you want to give them a try. They would work quite nicely in your Kraken, but you have to hot wrap the coil while torching the wire and wick . ;)

Native wicks plat is not bad. A little slower to absorb juice when priming, I've noticed. Comes in rope form.

Stepped away from "boutique cotton" years ago, I picked up the 3lb box of Rayon and that's a lifetime supply for quite a few vapers.

If you are stuck for a source of Rayon or even want to try it. Then Kotex U Sleek tampons (available everywhere) have an medical grade, top quality Rayon core.

You just have to skin and gut them. :D
Skin and gut them, rofl...i almost said something worse than that in reply but it would probably get me evicted from the forum for being insensitive and just plain gross:lol:

So I ran out of cotton bacon and too lazy to just go out and get a pack is it okay to use this cotton that comes in big bags and my sister uses them to clean her makeup they I think are not scented. They smell like.. well regular cotton.
Please don't use any cotton that has been treated with bleach or other chemicals. I'd be really suspicious of anything in the cosmetic aisle. :| Just want you to be safe.

I bought a two 20 packs of organic Muji cotton pads 8 months ago and I haven't even gone through one yet, and I'm a daily vaper. They are cheap and you can find them here. Ships from the U.S. too.

Then there's that new stuff several YT reviewers are usung that comes all fluffed up and with a shoelace aglet on the end to get it to slide through the coil. A pack of 20 is something like $5. Looks pretty but $0.25 each piece
I find it so hard to understand why someone would pay extra just to avoid a few seconds of twisting up the end of a piece of cotton. o_O

Since Hydrogen peroxide decomposes into oxygen and water, I personally do not see much danger in using cotton bleached with it.
However, I use Rayon and I don't even think about the process that goes through ;)

Everything I've read about Rayon is scary up until the point where they say it's washed and the chemicals are removed. You have to wonder what the process leaves in terms of chemicals in the final product.

.1% ? 5%?

If it's safe for use on chemically treated hair, how bad could it be?
