I have that multimeter. I got it for free for setting foot in Harbor Freight. Only problem is it isn't so good at reading Ohms in the lowest resolution setting. It really jumps around a lot. I'd return mine if it wasn't free.

Ah i see.. i don't do sub ohms ..1.8 is about the lowest i go... i know this is wildly off topic but if the restiance is crosschecked and registers the same.. is the cheap thing doing it's job?

So as you may have read i just got my new vv battery mod, I took a few hits from my existing CE4 setup and it worked, not I just took another hit and OMG the most disgusting taste ever, it was like a burnt silicon taste coating my tongue, horrible horrible...What would cause this? Maybe my coil burnt up? There's no funky smells or heat or anything coming from the battery, and it still functions normally. Was using it at 4 volts, which is around what a standard ego runs on a full charge. So I assumed it was a safe voltage.

Most eGo nonregulated batteries are 3.7 v - 3.3 v at full charge.

I think so. I used the subtract method as well, but the fact that it jumped around so much took too long for me to get the reading. I had to wait about 30s before the reading leveled off at 4.8ohms grounded. Then it took another 30s to level off while reading the coil @ 7~ Ohms. Then I used my Vamo.

I started off with an eight dollar GE multimeter from Walmart. At the time, couldn't find my auto ranging fifty dollar radio shack model. The cheapy one works great, just have to subtract .4 ohms to be accurate. Now I just check it on my itaste. Try winding up a good 2.0 ohm coild and set it to 4.0-4.2 volts for somewhere in the 8 watt range and I'm willing to bet you will enjoy the vape quite a bit! Just my $0.02.

trick with reading Ω's with a multimeter....first make sure the battery in the multimeter is charged (a low battery causes the slight voltage that flows when reading ohms isn't stable...thus it jumps around) then do not put your fingers on the leads, on lowest setting touch the item you want to read, and count to 5...due to the fact that there are capacitors and other things that are slowly charging your reading will take a few seconds to stabilize

I really like the sanding trick from other posts!!!!

An atomizer protection circuit ??? .......mit now how am I supposed to run a .8 ohm coil on the new MVP ?

The old one I have now will fire a .8ohm coil .... seems like a downgrade .

If they wanted to make it better they should have just got rid. Of the puff counter added an ohm reader and upped the amp limit and voltage to 6 . That is all. 6 amps 3- 6 volts ohm reader.

Instead they screwed it up

This means now that the older version will better run rebuildable attys at lower ohms

Also I'm now running above 2.6ohms at 5.7-6V not sure which setting I prefer yet but it's well within the safety range of the device which is max at 2.5A, so it's alot safer then trying to downgrade the ohm on a standard ego-t. and I've got a super airy draw so my drag doesn't last more then 2 seconds lol maybe 3. Not sure I like having that much air in my vape but meh it produces nicely. Not sitting here vaping constantly even on the 18mg juice like I was previously with 24mg

The innokin 134 will fire an 8 ohm coil so mvp v.2 may still fire that coil.. 1.2ohm with proper heatsink wick @ 1/16 diameter is as low as I go..
