Why are people concerned about stockpiling batteries and PG/VG and flavorings and stuff like that? NONE of that will be effected by the regulations because NONE of it is sold as ecig related products by the manufacturer. Do you really think the FDA is going to try to regulate replacement batteries for power tools? Or regulated already approved ketosis treatments for cows? Or require you to be 18 to buy ingredients used in baking cakes and cookies? Banning the sale of WIRE? Because obviously no one uses wire for anything else, right?

Completed mods, atomizers, and certainly nicotine solutions will be regulated. There is no doubting that.

But the FDA does not have the authority to regulate products that are designed for and have been used in other markets and industries for decades, with FDA approval I might add. As it so happens PG and VG are already FDA approved and sold in farming supply shops and health stores. The FDA isn't going to try to claim those are suddenly tobacco products. They can't, there is no tobacco in them and they aren't being sold as anything related to vaping. Batteries are batteries, and rechargeable batteries have thousands of uses. There are no batteries being sold that are exclusively designed for vaping, and the FDA isn't about to try to regulate batteries used in toys, powertools, and even cars claiming they are tobacco products. Flavorings have been around since forever and are available in virtually any grocery store. The FDA isn't going to suddenly ban them all. Could you imagine the FDA trying to tell Walmart that it cannot sell LorAnn flavorings for cakes and cookies because 0.001% of their customers may use them in ecigs? How long do you think it would take a major corporation like Walmart to challenge that silliness in court?

Mods, atomizers, and nic. That's all you really need to worry about. Everything else will be available just as they were available before the ecig was ever invented.

True enough.

Cuz your thinking is rational.

I doubt very much that the same can be said about an agency that deems a few lines of program code ( to update your regulated mod ) a tobacco product.

I doubt very much that the same can be said about an agency that is howling and mewling that they are chronically underfunded and overworked. If thats truly the case, then why on earth would it burden itself with yet more work ? Especially from an industry/community that - so far - has done fairly well sorting itself out ?

Diacetyl, diketones, tall claims from shady vendors, exploding batteries, etc.
Tons of threads where it's been discussed - sometimes ad nauseam.

Unlike some outfits in BP or BF, who are more apt at covering up ' oh it's ok, deary, have another chantix and try to sleep..' we've got nothing to hide.

Been there, seen it. Done it. Lot's of fellas and fellesses here that been around the block - more than once.
A few decades livng are apt to teach you some lessons. And while it seems in increasingly short supply elsewhere, there is plenty of it here: common sense.

Applying common sense to you post it's makes..well, sense :)

But after having read ( or tried as much as my very limited command of 'reg speak' allows ) 499 pages of deeming reg with an appalling lack of common sense, I - for myself - wouldn't bank on their rationality.

If they expected for that to pass without a legal challenge, they persons responsible for that are more gone south than I thought.

If they do all that on BT's bidding, they're more corrupt than I thought.

In either case, they present a clear and present danger to the people of the United States and should be removed from office.

Just my seven cents ( 2 cents plus 3 cents vape tax plus 3 PMTA) ;)

This all just sucks lol. I just kicked analogs and started vaping already have spent a .... load just getting started can't really afford to "stock pile".
You should have some time (I think and hope). The clock starts ticking now. I'm guessing two years max.

Do a little each month. Check out the DIY section of the forum to see what you need as far as nic to stock up. How you store it and all that jazz. Learn how to make your own coils and get a device that will allow you to use your own.

Hopefully we can get this turned around, but you need to learn to be self sufficient. We can help you get there. Ask questions. Be SAFE above all else.

If there is someone in your area who does watch/clock repair they likely have the correct sized screws.

A good source is shops selling model making supplies.

Don't get me wrong :D , I mean model airplanes, model cars, stuff like that.

Using a small threaded road as a coil jig, threads makes for perfectly aligned turns :)
Small screws in all shapes and sizes, o-rings.
Miniscule motors with heating coils to ignite the fuel...

Should not just send he model airplane flying, but your imagination and ingenuity too :)

If you are stock piling for an inordinate amount of time - 20/30+ years. Boxing electronic devices could backfire on you if they just sit without being periodically used... I guess if you store them in a vacuumed / hermetically sealed container you might be alright, but who is going to take that extra step...

...don't forget the silica packets ;)

Did someone say mods?
I have 22 18650s new and freshly charged. Cotton and wire.
Thinking about ordering a dryherb MOD just in case.

I sort of feel like I have been at the amusement park for years and now I have to leave because it is being closed for ever and I am trying to stock up on cotton candy, trinkets and salt water taffy to last my lifetime :)

We need one of our resident experts to guide us on whether it is better to freeze cotton candy or not!

Texas Instruments tested their products stored for up to 15 years in moisture barrier bags (metallized) in a warehouse (<40°C and <90% RH) and found no changes in them.

Many companies put some components, boards, etc. for long term storage for servicing their product long after it was discontinued.

NO need to stockpile batteeies. They are needed for power packs used in cirdless tools and in flashlights.

NO need to stockpile VG and PG

NO need to stockpile wicking material

And other items
Ok what do i need to stockpile?

Mods with external batteries good 18650 mods for $35 and up.

A few x-tra RDA or RTA you can get a clone of Silverplay Nano for $12 and up.

Nicotine base. Sometines a liter of 100 mg/ml on sale. A few months ago $24.95 a liter

Real ejuice flavors from TPA, TFA, or High Desert Vapes.

500 foot Kanthal $4.95 a hundred foot.

Literally $500 would let you vape for YEARS.

I think some of us are already thinking along these lines...but really do we want liquid and its ingredients sitting two = years? technology changes in vaping all the time.. I only think stockpiling will have to wait till last minute and hope inventories will support demands.

Nicotine base has been kept in a freezer for six years

I would keep flavors in the freezer too.

Get the VG and PG as you need it.

You have some time. Just buy what you can when you can. if you spend as much each week on gear as you would on smokes, you can prep up pretty quick.

Hear hear

2.5 packs $6 a pack. $15 a day.

$15x 30= $450.

$500 and buying carefully you can vape for years.

$75-120 for 3 mods.
$100-125 for 3 liters 100 mg/ml nicotine.
$30-50 for three RDAs or RTAs at Fasttech.
$30 for Kanthal

So far that is $310, and you still have almost $200 for another liter nic and flavors.

There us a DIY forum here, anf Post discount codes, and special sales. A few months ago they had a 20% sale on Fasttech.

A few months ago there was a sale on liters of 100 mg/ml nicotine $24.95.

Wow thats controversial. Ive read articles saying its the last place to keep eliquids! whats your research?

One ECF member did a test. After 6 years it was still good.

The trick is to re bottle and fill to the brim. Leave NO space for water to get in the bottles.

Once i bring bottles out of the freezer they never go back in.
