There is thread repair kits at automotive places like Oreilly or Autozone that repair stripped spark plug threads, might be an option? It is an epoxy of sorts that you aplly and screw your atty or any srew in and let cure. After curing you unscrew and wa la new threads.Hmm...interesting. Never thought about that happening.

I am pretty handy. I used to work in a machine shop years ago.
I have an old 20w istick that is stripped. Only one I have ever had that did it. I didn't over tighten it or anything. It's an older one. Maybe they had problems with them back then. I kept it because I thought I could eventually fix it. So any information will be extremely helpful to me. It will add another mod to my stockpile.
