I am relying on rda's for my forever stash. No glass tanks, no custom o-rongs and seals. The o-rings are standard industrial types. Not much to go wrong. I have 4 STMs and a half dozen or so spare rba decks and some spare seals but I like dripping and see that as a better way to forever proof my Atty collection.
Me too on the RDA's, I grabbed a bunch of IGO-L's that were 1$ each on a closeout. I find dripping to be relaxing, it kind of reminds me of my old Uncle Red with his pipe, the way he'd fiddle away scratching out the bowl, packing it just so, and always firing it up with one of those big ole strike anywhere matches. The ritual is almost as enjoyable as the vape itself.

I like the Bellcaps. I use them for out side doing stuff since they will not shatter.
If you buy bases get Authentic ones. I got some clones ones and only 1 out of 5 worked. The 510 was too short...
These RBA's work fine. FT SKU 3822800
These are the bellcaps I got FT SKU 4139704

I'm glad you told me. I was going to pick up the clones. Thankfully I haven't bought them yet. Bellcaps would be cool too.

Continuing my theme, I view RDAs as the mech mods of atty's. With the advantage that they never explode or become incendiary devices :)

I have a freakshow mini that I used to use all the time before I got my first stm. I also have a geyser that does up to four coils that I got last summer. I dripped all the time, but when I got my first stm I liked it so much that I got sick of dripping. I'm glad I have them though.

I too enjoy the ritual of dripping. I think of it as replacing the lighting up of a cig but I definitely understand the pipe smoking ritual although I never smoked a pipe. I do well recall my grandfather going through all that, with great enjoyment.

I agree that dripping isn't for everyone, but neither are (or should be) mech mods. So I hope that those that are buying mech mods as panic last report backups also carefully consider a set of drippers.

I prefer RDAs too! But when I'm out and about, I reluctantly use RTAs. I can't even comprehend an ADV. I switch flavors constantly.
I'm the same way! The genisis style atomizers like the Theorem RTA are the closest thing to dripping on-the-go i have found

Probably going to just write mine off as Box spares.
Looking at these instead:
$8.07 TD Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 3ml / 304 stainless steel + glass / 22mm dia. at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Can be built Dual or with a little work, single coil. Better air flow adjustment also. Bonus, the Top deck is NOT positively charged. :thumb:

I got one of these when they first came out...

$19.00 SXK Nebula TD RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer - 316 stainless steel / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

... and ran it in Single Coil, Tank Mode, by putting a piece of cotton thru the Unused wick holes. It's OK. Just Not a ton of flavor. The way it converts to an RDA is Slick.

Not sure if you are into RDA's? But if you are, they have Clones that include the RDA plate for a Few Dollars more.

$12.12 TD Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 3ml / 304 stainless steel + glass / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

heres a question I think many of us have after reading this thread:
how many drops of 100mg nic do I put in a 30ml bottle to make 6mg juice?
Also, do I have to purchase my gallons of nic base in big drums? I'd prefer a bunch of small bottles, I dont' want to have to transfer it, one accidental splash and i could be kilt.

Drops are not accurate.
Use an ejuice calculator and 1 ml blunt syringe for measuring your nic.
Most places like Myfreedomsmokes sells nic in smaller bottles it just costs more per ML.

I agree with Robert though, drops are not accurate, use a syringe.

The 20 drops per ml here is just a gross estimate, it really depends on what you are using for a dropper.
Better to use a syringe and measure 1.8ml

BTW, A splash of 100mgl is not likely to even make you sick, let alone kill.
Hehe, as long as you arent drinking it.

I have to choose between immediate access to running water and adequate ventilation as I do not have access to both in the same area. I am choosing ventilation. Running water is pretty close at hand though. I plan on wearing gloves. I have 2 liters I'll be transferring to 120 mL bottles. Not looking forward to it.

You are Correct. A Drop's Volume depends on Size of the Dropper and the Viscosity of the Liquid.

Drops are actually Very Accurate from Drop to Drop. But if a person uses a Different sized dropper from batch to batch or using the Same amount of Drops per ml for say VG as for Flavoring, that is where the Problem occurs.

O-rings aren't going to be that much of an issue unless they're a non-standard size that you can't snag at the hardware store.

Take a set to your local hardware store and see if they correspond to what's readily available. If you find a match, no need to stock up.

Unfortunately the Subtank Mini uses non-standard o rings, in fact they aren't really o rings at all, they are specifically shaped seals.

It is for this exact reason that I am putting my SM into semi-retirement and have standardized on a different tank for my prepping.

I'll still use the subtank, and I do intend to buy a few sets of replacement seals (very cheap on fasttech) but I'm not going to bother with spare glass or rebuildable decks. When it breaks, it breaks.

Try a practice run using water ... pretend it's real nicotine and get the feel for the process.

This will remove some anxiety.

You know...I should have done this the first time. I was pretty nervous but after I was done I realized how easy it is. I use a plastic pouring beaker and a small funnel. 120ml bottles hold more than 120mls with a small head space. Different brands are slightly different.

Now when I do it I figure out how much goes in to the bottom of the neck and fill the beaker to the right amount and pour. I still have to top each off a little but it really makes it an assembly line once you know how much to fill the beaker. No chance at an oopsie overflow.

Work inside a large casserole dish or baking dish too. If you do happen to have an oopsie moment the spill is contained and it's easy to pick the dish up and put it in a sinkful of dishwater.

This is a Very Good Call.

And something I like to do whenever I Transfer e-Liquids or do DIY.

I prefer to work with large quantities of 100 mg nic either on my deck or in kitchen sink (no problems with spills). You can open your big bottles in a well ventilated area (to let to escape to concentrated vapor) and then continue in sink.
