I have plenty of shelved mods. But they are shelved for a reason... I like the newer mods better. Therefore today I spent a fair amount of change to buy a couple new Evic Minis, a couple new rdas, some new batts, a couple few boxes of Kanger OCC replacement coils.. I only use two tanks, the rest rdas. Then from Wizard Labs, some new and old flavors from Cap, more glass bottles, and more VG. I'm working my way down to zero nic... at 1% now, next step .50%. So I'm not buying any nic... scary thought, but I'm going thru with it.

I wind my coils on a machine screw @DavidOck . I have a pair of small embroidery scissors for cutting wick. I have some tweezers, kanthal from lightning vapes, a brush attachment from my dremel. Flat and phillips screwdrivers from glasses repair kit. Side clippers but nail clippers work just as well. Your kit can come from here and there, no need to buy an expensive one from someone who thinks you need or don't need this or that.
Yep my main coiling tools are a $2 pair of scissors from Wally World.
a $3 pair of flush cutters and a $3 set of little screwdrivers from Harbor Freight.
heck I blew almost $2 on one of those stepped coiling rods from FT. But my screwdrivers work much better.
I have enough Sally Salon Coil cotton for years for a bit over $3.
Got some LV wire on sale for 50% off. About $3 for several years worth.
I did buy about $20 worth of wire of various gauges. Will never use it all, got carried away.

This is the screwdriver set I got. Was 2.99 on sale when I got it.
You will need 2, 2.5 and 3mm shanks to wind on this set has those and the screwdrives work well for screws too.
They also have little lines of rubbery bunps on the handles that work great for gripping the wire end under your thumb.

I think I paid $2 at Wally World for a short pair of Wescott brand scissors that work very well for cutting wicking material.
Might want to pick up a cheap tweezer set at Harbor Freight as well.
the pointy ones are useful for poking wicks and such. And for pulling old wicks from coil.

Not a thing. Get a roll of kanthal of your preferred gauge (or nichrome if you're playing with temp control), some toe nail clippers, and a set of mini screwdrivers to roll your wire on.
Yea, you could get one of those fancy cases with all the little tools
and a coil jig from FT if you really want to spend some money.
If you want to learn to roll there are a couple of helpful tutorials here
but your best bet is youtube.

Ahh silica wicks. I had assumed cotton. With silica you pretty much wrap the coil around the wick.
With cotton you make the coil and then pull the cotton thru.
What will you be putting your coils/wicks in?
Yea the tweezers to squeeze your coils..I use hemostats for that.
You could get silica but I really suggest you use rayon.

and your friend might not be as full of it as you think...
However considering that there exist many sites dedicated to using controlled substances
an *educational* <-------key word site like this isn't likely to get shut down
temp control? I don't even like VV. LOL I am so lame. But I do not smoke!!!!
