If the govt says online verification is acceptable then the vendor's azz is indeed covered. This is not about actually effectively restricting youth access to anything.

I was not debating that point at all. Not sure why my point is so allusive? Pretty certain that most vapers understand that these regs are not about our health as well. My point was simply which means of online identification may or may not be acceptable. Simple as that.

I got my subtank minis there last week. 9.99 is a great deal. I also hear ya on the mental health community and smoking. I'm bipolar myself and just about everyone I've met along the way smokes. Nicotine has been proven to be helpful. I read something awhile back. Can't remember where though. Vaping is so much better and healthier than smoking and it infuriates me to no end that the fda is denying us that right to all smokers and former smokers who vape.
Yep, while I have not been diagnosed with any mental health illnesses I have worked in very high stress jobs for over 30 + years, lots of people in these fields smoke. Nicotine helps, helps a lot! Vaping saved my life and I'll be damned if government tools of Big Tobacco are going to force me back to Tobacco!

ETA- Let me try and make my point a little easier to understand. It is my opinion that a physical copy of a persons identification may end up being what is required by law rather than just using the persons name and address used to place an order to verify their age by means of public record. Hope that made things a bit more clear. Sheesh.

One would think, in this Orwellian world in which we are starting to live, there would be enough covert databases to confirm almost everything about anyone in this country by now.:glare:

Just thinking out loud:blink:

Hi everyone,
I have a really good friend who has been smoking for 50+ years (she's in her mid-70s, and she's my mentor). I'm going to visit her in Cali in a couple weeks and she's told me she wants to switch to vaping. Otherwise she's not going to quit smoking - she likes it and doesn't want to quit. But when I told her my story, she asked me to help her switch. So I feel her chances of success are very good.

I'm taking a rolling workshop's worth of juices and hardware with me, and I'm in good shape with what I'm going to do on that front. She's had the exact same experiences as I did (tried a couple times using crappy cig-a-likes and gave up), so I think what worked for me might work for her. And if not, I have many other options for her to try, and 4 days to do it in.

I'm starting to compile a list of must-read (and must-have) items for her. It took me lots of time and digging to find bits and pieces of info when I started - way too time-consuming for her, considering the looming deadline. She's a lifelong professional engineer with a masters in chemistry and very intelligent - so I need CURRENT, authoritative, expert-level, factual and robust info/tutorials. Ideally in one place (but def without comments, hearsay or meandering). She has to get 100% up to speed in a VERY short time.

Because vapageddon is looming, I have to teach her coil-building, basic juice mixing and other DIY stuff early on - we don't have time to wait for her to get there organically (at least the stuff that's best taught in person) at this visit, because I won't be seeing her IRL again anytime soon (at least for another year).

So what I'm asking is, what would you do? The big game-changing factor here is TIME. As in, we don't have much. She'll have to be DIYing and stockpiling nic and gear from the very earliest moments of her conversion, racing up the learning curve in record speed. No moseying, like I did (like most of us did, with the luxury of time for exploration).

Any help greatly appreciated. This lady is like a mom to me, and I really owe her. I want to do this right. And I can't imagine any group of people who could help me more than you folks. Thanks is advance!!!

Since you're discussing the ProTanks, what are you using for your wicks in those. I've always used Silica, I've tried using the organic cotton, and it just produces no taste.

I'd like to stock up with something, but just curious what's currently being used for those for rebuilding.

I'd gotten insulators from Kidney Puncher, not sure if they still have them though...I'll check.;)
Negative. None in stock. I'll check my invoice at home and see if they were called something else.
I'm using rayon in mine.

Of course it isn't. Look at how many Adults disagree with Age restriction, even here:unsure:
Those Adults will go right ahead and Order for Teen(hopefully in an informed manor) and hand off on arrival.
This For the children BS has gone on Way to long. As far as Many countries see life a Child is a Little person
a Teen is an immature adult<around 13-15>

Our Socialist in Society Use For the Children to invoke images of Babies, when speaking of the Next run of US Military personnel:mad:

In the US, this Children Crap comes from over Sheltering(yea right) and over protection, depriving them from preparation for their Roll in Adult life.

These are the type of people who my heart just breaks for! (Those just getting started.)
The upside is her background!! She should pick up the how to's rather quickly, I would think.
Heck, she may teach you a thing or two. :)

You have to just do the very basics I think at this point, and then go on from there.
I would imagine that you've already covered those bases, and hopefully others will chime in too!! But, like has been repeated many times, get the things that will go away first.

As for the specific reference documents, or tutorials, where to fine those, that I don't know, everything I've learned, I've learned here, in forum format. Maybe others will have that sort of information.

Best wishes, and good luck!! :)

You rock, @Rossum. Just sayin.
Except MBV isn't doing business in CA. They are doing business in AZ. Sure, CA can make whatever laws it wants, but those laws do not apply outside their borders. The legal question here is when/where does ownership of the product change hands from the vendor to the customer. On a pre-paid order, it's pretty clear that happens at the time the product is paid for and shipped.

I've had my own interaction with with Cali. Their board of equalization hounded me for the better part of a year demanding I turn over all my records of sales to Cali residents so they could collect use tax from them. I kept round-filing their letters. When they eventually called me, I told them: Show me something in PA or federal law that requires me to do this, otherwise bugger off. That was several years ago. I never heard back from them.

Thank you so much for the encouragement and kind words. I have no doubt she'll be teaching me a thing or two before we are done. I feel badly for her too - but it could be MUCH worse; it could be August 9th.

Obviously I'll be pointing her straight to ECF. But it's just a lot to try to take in a hurry. I know I'm asking a lot. One thing I've done is told her to start reading now, in advance of our meetup. Hopefully this will help. But nothing spurs learning more than being a true believer, and I'm thinking things will really pick up once she's gone through the magical reorientation from cigarettes. Until then, so much remains hypothetical.

Thanks again!!
