The new V5 Kayfuns have a little lip beside the screw to trap the wire under making it much easier.
The same method that the Kanger STM's have used in their rba decks for some time.

FT also has V5 clones I am told.
That is much easier than trapping the leads under screw heads.

I see a of posts about trapping leads on kayfuns. I make my leads long enough to wrap under and over a jig or screwdriver holding the coil when bearing down and never have a problem ever. I'm going out of town this weekend and put new coils on 5 kayfuns for me and the wife in less than 30 minutes. I'm no coil pro either. But using the "tension method" when bearing down on the screws is super easy. Reading glasses for my old eyes are a must though. Lol
Most people have NO problem with the leads.

My problem is from Duprodens contracture curling up three fingers and useless.

I got an order in today from Mr. Li, in China. Customs form declared contents as " electronic gadgets". I'm thinking things are not going to be that hard to get in the end, at least for some of us...nicotine though...sock that liquid gold away, as much as you can keep cold ;)
I got a parcel from Mr. Li last week and will be getting two more parcels in another few days.

There is also the short stop and vape safe fuses for mech mods you can buy, they do not regulate your mod but help to stop a short in it.

The VapeSafe is a one time use, meaning if it stops a short it has to be replaced
On sale for $.99 here
SmokTech Vape Safe

The Short Stop you do not have to replace after it has arrested a short, simply let it cool for a couple minutes before using it again.
and you can find it here for $9.95
ShortStop by Holocron Labs

personally this is what I have used for the past 5 years in every mech mod I own, I have several of the kicks and have only used them a few times, but either IMHO is a good idea.

THANK YOU! I've been looking for some more of these lil buggers.

Kind of sorta, just regulates the voltage to a degree. Don't believe it will do anything about a hard short. Plus I believe that their max wattage is like 18 maybe 20 watts.

I saw kicks on Fasttech.

One was limiting to 20,15, or 10 watts.

If yoy use a kick in a regular mech yoy would be limited to 18490-500 battery or see if you can find a kick extender.

Hello all.

How does the MFS nic compare to Nude Nic for long-term storage? Looks like with the coupon you can get 2 glass liters for about the price of one from NN.

Thanks!

I buy Nude Nic V2 (in glass, 500ml, 100mg), and I like it. The reason I continue to buy it is because I'm a creature of habit. :). The key for long term storage is to keep oxygen, light and heat out. Any good nic, stored in glass in the freezer, should be fine. The MFS looks like a good deal!

My kicks cut out at 2.9.
A Nemesis takes a kick-- it comes with a kick ring to make tiny adjustments, and a kick tube.

On mechs and min voltage: I hadn't really thought about that. The REO is a (slightly protected) mech, and I can tell in a heartbeat when the battery goes below 3.6. Vapor and flavor drops noticeably. Wouldn't that be the same in any mech?

@YoursTruli, thank you for the link to the Short Stop. I have a couple of mechs and these look like just the thing for them!

Depends on whether you have your coil at the right Ω. What ohms do you coil at for optimum vape at 4.0 V?

I don't really think about it, 3mg. I coil the Reos with duals at .6 to .8. I know I'm well within the parameters of what my batteries can handle, and I just go with it.

I actually quit looking for the perfect topper for me when I found the SMOKtech ARO ll. It is a single coil bottom fed clearo. I think I have enough of them to last for the rest of my life specially since I have only had to toss one since I started using them a couple a years ago but how can I pass up a sale where I can get them for about a buck 50 with the sale that is going on over at GotVapes right now. summersavings gets you 40% off everything but e-liquid and if you sign up for their newsletter you get an extra 5% off your total order. The thing is, they are already marked down to a good price so the coupon is just icing on the cake.

I am having a fight with myself. The devil on one shoulder says, go for it and the Angel on the other says, you have more than you will ever use. The coil heads for these are so simple to rebuild and I have a ton of them already so am good to go there. I also have one of each color of the mini Trophy tanks and several of the mini davides they sell and they use the same coil heads.
I have igo-w's and igo-l's for drippers and a couple more RDA's and bunches of pro-tanks. I am a low watt (10 or less) , MTN (mouth through nose) vaporer and use 1.8Ω coils. I have the battery holder end taken care of and if push came to shove Hubby can build me what ever I might need in the future. I have all the nic I could ever use with bunches left over but my weak spot is the toppers I love. I just counted my ARO ll's and I have 35 of them already. It is a mixture of all the various colors.

I am wondering if I am ever going to feel completely finished and prepared for whatever happens

Yeah, my problem is the low wattage. My preferred builds run around 17-27w on an unregulated mech.

I could probably build 1-1.2 ohm and run a kick OK. But I used to be in that 1 ohm/ 12w range and ended up drifting to where I am, so I don't know how satisfied I'd be.

I just went back to 1.3 so I can use my two zmaxs. I had been at .5 for quite awhile. It was different at first cuz it's been awhile, but I really like it now. I'm getting used to it again. I do pull on ot a little longer though.

My kicks cut out at 2.9.

That is another reason why I am going to pick up a couple of nemesis.
